Pocket Knife Gurus

I really like the assisted open SOG knives.

They are really nice. They list for a lot of money, but they go for about 50 percent of list on ebay, brand new.

I used to have about a dozen SOG knives, they are really good quality.

Keep the blade oiled and it will last a very long time.

:word:

I work downtown so if you’re looking for a quick opening knife with a safety on it I recommend this.

It keeps a good edge. It lasted me tough a tour in afghanistan and with a simple sharpening once in a while it keep an awesome edge.

He is annoying but gives solid reviews. Did you see the one where he cut his finger with his spiderco? ROFL.

I liked his ar vs. ak series and the knife vids aren’t shabby either.

Zero Tolerance have rock solid lockup. Heavy duty blade etc…
They are designed by Ken Onion of Kershaw fame.

This is a good mid sized knife with assisted open and reasonable specs/price.

I really dont think you should be calling Spyderco on the low end - when you have other knifes like Buck, Remmigton and etc.

Spyderco are one of the top brands. Emerson and Strider are more like Mercedes and BMW type deals

One thing I also really like about SOG’s are the placement of the pocket/belt clip. They tend to place them all the way at the edge of the knife so it fits all the way down in your pocket keeping it well hidden.

This will be my next knife, I am going to get one when we do our next group buy…

His youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/nutnfancy - I have been an subscriber with him over a year now and got one of his dorky shirts haha. He does great reviews - but he is a huge dork

smaller knives come up pretty frequently on www.steepandcheap.com Usually crkt or SOG or similar for around $20.

Microtech makes some sweet knives…

Thanks for all of the suggestions and information. I really like a lot of the SOG knives so far. Is there any legal issues with carrying a spring assisted knife?

I think in NYS it has to be manually assisted (leverage) and not automatic assisted (spring). I could be wrong, this is just what a CO told me.

Get him a folding utility knife. I don’t know how I lived without one.

Nope no issue at all.

it can have any kind of spring as long as the user “starts” the movement with direct contact on the blade.

ie no push button open or “switch blades”.

I had that one for many many many years, and it was great.

Here’s the guy I’m carrying with me today. I <3 damascus steel.
Mines a limited edition and looking at the prices online I got a steal of a deal. No pun intended. LOL
