if your filter has the option, “rinse” after backwashing.
and if your strips are reading none but your smelling it that means your total chlor level is high but your free chlorine level is low, thats what strips test for, free chlorine. what size pool is it? ull need to shock it to take care of the combined chlorine level imbalance.
