I’m looking at a 1996 Carrera4S. I was just wondering if anyone on here does know anything about these cars or have heard of any little gremilns to watch out for…
The only advice i would give you about that car is to try not to get stuck in traffic on a hot day. My dad had one awhile back and since its air cooled it would just overheat in those type of spots.
But its one of my all time favorite cars
Got any pics?
Man I am really gonna start to hate you if you keep getting these insane deals on awesome cars.
993s are sweet my next car I want is a 993 TT. I would ask around on rennlist.com though its hands down the best porsche site I know of, just ask a couple of questions in the 993 section
iam glad i can go to these auctions now. out in chester new york the car auction place had to be bigger then the airport and just car after car

well i really have to justify this to myself first. i am looking for houses as well, and the money to get this would hinder a nice down payment.
but if all else fails, i will just re-sell it on here
My dad has one, no issues with it whatsoever, and never overheats either. He has it in Europe now, and even after flying down the road there at a constant 130+ for hours, then getting stuck in Rome rush-hour there were no overheating issues. Only thing I would keep in mind with that car is that it’s pretty expensive to maintain, and the previous guy might have skimped on it. Even routine stuff can be pricey, like check to see how many quarts of Mobil 1 are required for an oil change…

This car is worth alot when in good shape, the S sells for much higher than a regular c4 from what I have seen

Dry sump setups typically take a lot of oil. Murcielagos take 13.5, if I remember correctly.
Air cooled = tons of oil.
Doesnt look like it needs much, maybe a theft recovery?
Should go for big bucks at the auction, it would be a steal under 30 K since the mint ones go for 50K+

Air-cooled…
Actually it is oil cooled.
Why does it look so beat?
Is that how they look at auctions?
