I’m not that surprised that you would agree with him…blind to a lot of things.
Putting the WORST test numbers of the GTR against the BEST numbers of the Z06’s PARENT COMPANY is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen.
Of course Porsche isn’t going to admit that the GTR isn’t better than their car. If you are using GM’s numbers, why don’t you use Nissan’s numbers for the GTR?
And do I seriously need to whip out the numbers of both cars around ButtonWillow? Where the GTR stomped the Z06 around a 2 minute track by more than 3 seconds?
MPD: I didn’t watch that episode. I’m not saying its an amazing car, but the GTR has more of an interior/comfort style that that particular style Porsche does not.
edit: never mind, I’ll do it anyways.

5.3 seconds quicker than the Z06. Seriously, why the argument here?
Why don’t you find me someone calling BS on the C6 Z06 numbers instead?
Oh, hai! I didn’t know this thread was about buttonwillow… thats weird huh?
You won’t find many people calling BS on numbers of a car which isn’t out in front. The Z06 wins in a straight line, but on tracks it will get beat, unless its a Nascar-oval-like-track where top speed mostly prevails.
Only introduced it to prove my point…which I believe was proven, because your not rebutting it.
Weird how I’m right though, huh?
Jesus, can you pull Nissans dick out of your mouth and think for a bit.
The number is video taped and claimed, on A STOCK CAR… not a pre production model that no one else can replicate.
The GTR is and will be a faster car on any smaller course, ie buttonwood… where there are no high speed corners, ie the ring, because of the traction control and powerband… THE CARS WEIGHT WILL ALWAYS SHOW THROUGH ON ANY HIGH SPEED COURSE… You want the GTR to do well take it to an autocross…
god you suck…
oh wait you want track times, here

The 'ring is such a media-whored track now it’s hard to believe any times. Which sucks because long intense tracks like that are such a great judge of a car’s overall performance. But blah blah, I think other tough tracks are good judges too. Motortrend took the GT-R, Viper ACR, and Corvette Z06 on Laguna Seca:
Car Time spd(km) Yr hp/weight (kg)
1.Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR 1:35.117 136 ´08 600 / 1536
4.Nissan GT-R 1:40.453 129 ´08 479 / 1740
5.Chevrolet Corvette Z06 1:40.9 129 ´05 513 / 1437.3
The Z06 of Dan and Kyle is an LPE 650 TT car, with a RAFT suspension. Mark and Stephen are in a stock C6 Z.
You seriously have NO IDEA what you are talking about. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Your post makes you seem like your talking out of your ass. I’m 19 years old and know how to research stuff better than you, what the hell?
I should load up the times posted by the STOCK Z06 driven by Mark and Stephen, and compare them to the GTR…then, again, I would be correct (except for the quarter mile, which the GTR driver bungled up anyways, and one or two actual tracks, where the Z06 barely bested the GTR).
God this is just like the ACR vs ZR1 debate…
I’ll go search for it for a good laugh, you make it seem like its a worthwhile read.
GTR is in Z06 price range right (not sure what Z06 is anymore under I think)? Performance is pretty close one way or the other. The ZR1 bests both and costs more than both. I don’t see the argument here.
No it was fucking stupid.
Instead of looking at times of other road courses why not look at what the car is, and think why its better on some courses instead of others…
IE z06 - 500hp, gtr - 420hp (z06 favorite on long straights)
Tires - I don’t even want to search… yadda yadda…
I’ve admitted where the Z06 will beat the GTR.
‘Looking at what the car is’ implies only looking at numbers. Theres a lot more to judging a car than numbers…which explains why the Bugatti Veyron is only at 7:40 on the 'Ring, ish.
Racing is numbers… car weight, tire size (and compound), lateral G’s it can hold, Top speed (especially for the ring, since there are some extremely high speed sections), CG,… its all numbers…
Then explain how the GTR can beat the Z06 on a track, despite its higher weight, worse tires, lower top speed, lower amount of power, etc…
Technology can’t be put down on paper. Describing how much power is put to the ground effectively can’t, either. There are too many numbers to include in that type of comparison. Racing is not just numbers There is more to it.
driver != number
Last month a Zo6 could be had for $62,653. MSRP is about $72k
yes…but the question is, will the plane take off?
I like how they said the 911’s were on NORMAL Michelin pilot sport cups, the same tires Dmoffit has on his 350z track car, they are really close to Dot race tires I understand, and same tires as the Viper ACR right?
Stock GTR has three tire choices (decidedly not sport cups):
Bridgestone RE070r run flat summer
Dunlop SP sport 600’s DSST run flat summer
Dunlop SP sport 7010 DSST run flat all season
Porsche probably ran it with the all seasons
I have PSC’s on my m, I got a good deal on them and said why not, and they come stock on the Porsche’s, so what is your point
