well i changed the fluid and put the posi additive in my new 8.5" rear (that i got from jj’s) and i took it to the local church and did a few laps to the left and then to the right to get the additive up in the posi (someone told me to do that a while ago so i tried it)
and then i pulled out and went to a road that is near my brothers house and i left a lil 15’ burnout up the hill
look in the rear veiw and what do i see. perfect eveness between tires.
i was like kick ass. then i did a launch on my street its nice being able to give it full throttle and not roast a tire off.
:-/
the proper way to break in a rear end is to drive it w/o getting on it then let it cool, then do it again, let it cool, then give it hell. I hear if you dont, you’ll have hell of a gear whine… Atleast thats what i did when i got my 8.5 trac-lok
well zackG i would brake them in that way if it was new gears but the gears have 42K on them they just havent been used in 3 years so no break in period needed just changed the fluid
