Funny thing about that picture. Your car looks exactly like I remember it from 4 weeks ago… this is the “Post the Most Recent picture of your car” thread, so I really hope you just ignored that part and posted an old picture anyways and its not that the car is still in the same state of incompletion.
Shorter piping will help with throttle response, as you have less compressible volume in the intake tract.
However…
Utilizing a center-center inlet IC vs top-top or bottom-bottom will yeild greater gains. The amount of flow (and thus, cooling) decreases exponentially as you attempt to force the air further and further from the inlet location.
As far as the IC being in front of the radiator, it’s really a not much of an issue, as the delta in the crossflow air to the radiator is sufficiently small. Unless you are having massive engine cooling issues, this should not be looked at.
Lastly, a lot of people install massive intercoolers with no provisions for proper ducting. Ensuring that oncoming air cannot escape AROUND the intercooler (opposed to passing through it) will yeild far greater gains than simply upping the size of the core.
heres a pic of mine. it’s completely stock except for a full magna flow catback exhaust. next up is a chuki front bumper then body work and paint. i was thinking of midnight blue. ( i’m not affilated with the lady in the background…lol)
