Power Steering

My power steering is leaking under a dust boot on the right side. I was wondering if any knew how to fix it what that problem might be, or if any one had this problem before. Power steering also makes a squealing type sound. When I turn it. I can’t really think of what else to say. It kinda drips out liek this —> :wackit:

sounds like the seal in the rack & pinion is leaking…
if it is bad enough, when u poke a hole thought the dust boot, it will be peeing instead of dripping…

most likly u gotta replace the rack…
as for squealing sound… have u check the fluid level for power steering???

Does the squealing go away after you’ve driven it a while? What about on full lock, does it make a high-pitched sound?

It used to do that on our Stanza. Check if everything is lubricated properly

i can rebuikd the rack…bring it to me in KW at tricounty Hydrolics.

thanks, I might drop by

oh, but lets say I decide to take power stearing off, dose any one know the new size of the belt.

Just so you know incase you dont…

If your car came with PS (which it did) then by law you are required to have PS in the vehicle… "safety requirement + if you get blitz’d)

Main reason is without the PS Pump the Rack is then without Power and results in play from the Tie Rods (also, since its a power rack, its meant to have the power assist) if you dont, you’ll burn out the rack in time from running dry etc

Well, I didnt know that, thanks for the info.
