Rough Powersteering

Ive always had a leak since i got the car in aug. During the winter i used a synthetic ATF leak sealer which actually clogged up the leak as it was fairly small. This worked fine until it ran low again and i used regular stuff.

My real queston is when trying to quickly countersteer or really trying to pull that wheel hard and fast the wheel is Sooo hard to turn. A lot of other cars with PS the wheels a lot easyer to turn and i can use my palm when doing a reverse 180 or w/e but in the 240 i have to have two hands constantly working that wheel. When the wheels fully turned as far as it will go the pump or somthing squeels soo loud. Theres no tire rubbing issues its deffinatly the pump. This leak is on the list of things getting repaired very soon but i want to be sure that my steering is going to be far better than it is now when i get it repaired. The steering rack was never run dry either i always kept it topped up.

So… whats your question? :dark:

are your hard lines under the motor kinked at all?

Sorry that sounded confusing. Just wondering if S13 powersteering is really that sh!tty or i should really be able to turn that wheel with my palm when hard cornering or quick countersteering. Im not too sure if any lines are kinked…never noticed anything like that when i was trying to find the leak. Any rough ideas what im looking at to get a line redone? i dont really feel like flaring lines etc etc.

if you hear something squeeling like how u described and also experienced rough steering, its ur PS Pump. its on its way out and should be replaced. you also said there was a leak in it so thats more proof to show that its failing. get urself a new PS pump and u should be good.

could be belt squeaking when maxes out
