Precision turbo problems

I bought a Precision SC-61 back in march, I installed it in early april and I’m starting to have problems. Yesterday, I took off my filter to clean it and oil was dripping out of the compressor cover. The seal is obviously spanked.

My question is, how easy of a company is precision to deal with in regards to warranty and service?

thanks.

are you running a restrictor?

Compressor surge can kill turbos, too.

no restrictor, and I’m almost 100% sure theres no compressor surge. I did have surge when i put it on and started the break in period, but i never had it above 1 psi during that time because of the surge.

BB or Standard journal? What size oil feed line -3 or -4?

standard journal, and I forget the size of the feed line, I’ll check that once I get out of work.

your supposed to run a restrictor.

fuck, I’m an idiot… :picard:

but i also found this…

and i am running a -10an return line with no kinks/restrictions.

get yourself like a .050-.060 restrictor and see what happens. i bought mine at ferry’s

Always gotta run a restrictor.

awesome. thanks!

im still going to need to send it out though right?

yeah, that’s a big ol’ :picard: on my part

you may not have too, but its like a 5dollar part and worth giving a shot. It will def help regardless.

Yeah, i’ve had compressors leak oil, then put a smaller restrictor in and the problem went away… something to consider…

I’m going to stop there on my way home today. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated!

Innovative has them as well, if that’s closer.

Ferry would be closer to me, but thanks anyways.

i like to put a pressure gauge between the restrictor and the turbo oil inlet to make sure that the turbo has enough oil.
