the clutch in my car just became pretty shot today all of a sudden. not only that but im in lake george at my friends house right now and i have to drive back to schenectady tomorrow so its not gonna be fun. so basically, im broke and i dont know whether i should go looking for a used clutch somewhere (which i will probably never find) or buy a new clutch, whatever stage, (which i will probably have to do). so im wondering what brand i should i buy or what would be the cheapest/best option for me right now. opinions without making me feel bad please. i already feel like shit because im broke and have a car that barely drives. thanks.

I just replaced the clutch in my Cougar, it’s the labor that’ll run you more than the part. Best to spare having to do it again in x-miles. Do it right the first time, get the right part (preferably OEM, warranty, unless you’re racing it). Just my take.

no its not a grocery getter. the reason why the clutch is probably so shitty is because of the nitrous being run on a stock clutch

Now that everyone knows being broke was a choice they will be much less helpful.
Search ebay for a used clutch assembly. When you dont find anything, call Napa and get the cheapest OE clutch money can buy. Go get it installed for bottom dollar or if you’re lucky, get a friend to do it for cheap.
Its cheaper in the long run to have a beater car. Many of us have found this out the hard way. Just a suggestion for the future as I know this is no help to you now.

its not completely fucked but my car definitely isnt getting into gear good at all.

No idea but it happened to my old S10. I got home around midnight and it was fine but when I went to start it to go to work in the morning it made horrible noises and didnt move.
When I took it apart the clutch was in pieces with the springs in the bellhousing and broken fingers all over.
Weird but it happened and I didnt have any issue with the truck the night before.
