Problems (s13)

Hey guys!

Got some problems with the HVAC. One of the buttons is stuck in, meaning it wont come back out when i press it.It’s the button which separates the air circulating from the air from outside thing. Also when i push in the a/c button it doesn’t light up.

Another problem which has occurred is that when i first start my car after a couple of days of sitting the car has a hard time starting, meaning it will crank longer than usual before starting. usually it’s (turn key-1 turnover- start).

Lastly, after the car is started and is moved to reverse in gear selector the car reverses but the car stalls out if i don’t give it gas.

Another question is would using seafoam foul the plugs?

Things ive done to the car that may have an affect on these problems:

  • new cap rotor
  • new spark plugs ngk g-power
  • o2 sensor bosch
  • bosch wires
  • 2.5 inch cat back
  • Seafoam

I’m thinking that the fuel pump is going, or fuel regulator as it seems the car does not have enough gas.

anyone?

i’m gonna be careful what i say here so i don’t get bashed or anything like that. so for problem

#1 the button getting stuck would more then likely be the hvac selector assembly it self.

a/c light not coming on…got any freon in the system? if you don’t, won’t see that light.

#2 check your fuel pressure got fuel pressure…check injectors/regulator

i know its the hvac assembly but is there any easy way to get it out?

i’m not 100% sure but i think if you take the trim piece that goes around the shifter there should be a couple screws and thats it? never really taken one out of a s13 yet…:/:

i understand how to take it out, i was wondering how hard it is to get the button back out lol.

oh…dude. i dunno man. could be full of nasty shit (coffee, pop, whatever) may just needa be cleaned. if not just replace it. scrap yard probably 20-40 bucks? by the time you take it all apart you’ll more than likely break it

True, another thing has arrised. I was just holding it steady the other day at 2000rpm but whiles holding it there i get multiple backfire. What can that be?

is there a reason for the seafoam!! i have heard story that seafoam is not always good!!

well, it was happening before i seafoamed it.

not enough fuel.

My friends fuel pump was on it’s way out .

Symptons:

It would only have problems starting, but once started ran fine.
Here and there his rpm’s would fluctuate .

Either way the main concern was getting it started.

Hope you can link that to your situation

ye my, rpm sort of like stalls at some points for 1/2 a sec and stuff, i thought maybe its our old ours not reading the signal properly, but i guess its just the fuel pump.

check your fuel pressure before changing your pump bro

Welll i just had to get a fuel pump, and Done is right. As soon as it started the rpm migght drop at firt, but once it ran for a few minutes, you could drive it for hours.
