procycles in clifton park ?

has anyone been there yet? I been there like 3 times… once to get some minor stuff liek chain lube and another time to ask about tire prices and inspection etc and the last time was there to get a tire put on my bike…

just wondering for anyone who has been there does the guy who owns the place seem to be a royal dick ? because everytime i talked to him he gave me attitude, and the last time I was there was so bad that I wont be going back there ever and that sucks alot because I live down the street… so its liek 3 minute drive

I brought my tire to get installed and he basically flipped out since I didnt buy it from him, he dissed my tire telling me it was old (uh no…) and was like “you couldnt spend 10 more dollars to buy it from me I would of got you a brand new tire etc etc” but this dude told me the tire was liek 250-280 i dont remember but it was NOT under 250 , he has some 160 dollar michelins but not power 2ct’s so what ever that was gh3y enough. then he comes back in the garage and hes like you know… that tire you better have a way getting it back because I dont get rid of them unless you buy the tire from me… and the installation costs 50 not 35 because you didnt buy it from me…

I mean i didnt give him shit but at the same time i was like whatever man be a dick i dont care. then I came inside to pay and i heard him talkin to other customers like “kids these days going on the internet trying to save 10 bucks and they wind up getting screwed over in the long run, some things you just dont buy online etc etc” and im like wow what the fuck is up your ass dude…

so i came over and hes like its 55 dollars or 50 if you take your tire so i gave him 60 bucks and i said, dude keep the change AND i’ll be back for my tire in 10 mins when i grab the suv, thanks for getting the tire on for me. and he said whoa whoa hold on I got change for you… and I said something along the lines of… ‘no you need it because instead of worrying about people buying shit online maybe you should start selling parts online also instead of being miserable when someone brings in a tire thats 100 bucks cheaper than yours’ (oh yea and he kept the change gladly LOL)

anyways I dont know, but I really dont like that guy I gave him like 3 chances and he said alot more shit too that day with the tire but I cant think word for word because I got to a point where I was like ok i’ll zone out and not listen because if I flip out and tell this guy to go fuck himself then thats my bike with the wheel off right in the middle and its just not a good idea so I tried to keep cool but I had to diss him in front of his customers.

I told my bro and hes like “well its like going to a restaurant and bring your own steak” so I was like yea… but this is different maybe not by much but its different enough to where you shouldnt have to have a fucking altercation with the damn customer

disclaimer: im not telling anyone else not to go there, I mean maybe he IS a nice guy and just dont like brown people who knows. Im not trying to kill his business either , maybe thats wat he needs is just a little more business because i couldnt even get into Seymour’s (spelling?) to get a tire installed that day they were so busy and this guy will take anyone at anytime so maybe some more business will cheer him up as long is it isnt tire installations

again sorry for my huge posts

DONT DEAL WITH THAT GUY. I graduated with his son, So I know that family kind of well…The owner has gone snowmobiling with my dad before (his name is jimmy) and my dad hates him too.

He is a royal dick. I went in there on time to order a aftermarket big bore piston for my quad…Once I told him, it was for a quad, he completely changed his attitude and didnt even want to deal with me. None of my friends go there either because they all feel like he is a dick head…He also DOES NOT know what hes doing. He rebuilt a kids quad I know, and PUT BACK IN THE USED PISTON that came out of it…Quad ended up blowing up the next day…brought the quad back to him and reemed him out.

Me and my family are pretty close with the Seymoure’s. He comes riding at my private track with me all the time. If you seriously want to have someone real reliable and honest working on your bike, bring it to seymoure’s.

His son who races flat track on dirtbikes came down to my house riding a few years ago with some of his friends. Little to say, other then I lapped him on my quad…When his dad (jimmy) came to pick him up, he was sitting there telling me quads are useless and a waist of time and I could never be fast one on…I looked at him like, ask your son what happened then…

I hate guys like that.

I can’t blame him for charging you more for putting on a tire you didn’t buy through him, but for him to carry on like you said he did wasn’t necessary or professional on his part. Next time stop by our shop for parts and service! :nod

I can dig up some quotes from his, he really is indeed “very passionate” about local business’s VS online retailers.

He is known locally for flipping out and acting very unprofessionally and even calling people names online in a heated argument.

wow, i thought he was a pretty decent guy. Theres a thread on ride-ny saying how hes a good guy and does good things for people, the story on the thread was him going out of his way to put tire flys or somthing on a lil girls wheelchair.

A long time ago i remember goin to a shop in clifton park, i thought it was pro cycles and had a bad expierence, but im not sure if it was their shop or not. I heard about a place in cp that bought salvage bikes, and when i went up there it was just an insult ( pay THEM to take my bike kinda deal)

ahh ok not just me then… well good to know, seymours for now on :frowning:

seymours is good shit. My gf’s dad works the parts counter. He’s a real good guy. Other guys seem real cool too the couple times I’ve been there.

yea charging more for a tire i didnt buy there, thats cool, but the attitude not needed,

it was near my house thats onLy reason i came there, i’ll look into other places like yours and seymours for now on,thanks

every body has bad day’s.

OHH and do u bring egg’s with when u go out for breakfast?? just a thought to ponder!!!

And the last thing you want to do is take your bad day out on a customer. You do want them to come back.

yea well thats like what i said about bringing steak to a restaurant etc but there is a difference
