Programs to scan hard drives?

Does anyone know of any (or if they exist) preferably free programs that I can use to scan a harddrive to see if it has any errors/problems on/with it?

go to the manufactures website… they have the appropriate software for their drives.

Checking for bad sectors? Is that what you are trying to find out? Or are you trying to see if a seperate hard drive with no OS loaded has problems?

also running a chkdsk will tell the OS what not to use.

Thats what I was getting at.

HDtune is fun

I sent a HDD program I have to your gmail account, not sure if it will help, I have never used it

I wish I could be more specific, but its not for me, nor do I have the HDD in my possession.

But yes, I’m looking for any bad sectors/ reasons why it wouldn’t load windows or randomly crash and shit.

And I never got that email cuz.

The long scan takes about 40 minutes and scans each sector, if any are bad it tells you.
