3.4 dohc. I think its out of a lumina or something. A T5 from an s-10 bell housing bolts right up

u will be sorry

please elaborate

no turbo now?

3.4 dohc.nuff said daul cam

oh yeah, more cams more complicated
I was unaware of any inherant problem with that engine. Deep skirt block, 4v heads, Hemi. I was sure the customer researched it before having me do all this fab work for him. Maybe I’ll look into it a little myself :jerkit:

Yes it will be turbocharged. I’m going to cut the pipes back a little and merge them, then its up above the tranny to meet with the other side and turbo.

whats it going into? its lookin sweet

excuse my ignorence, but wtf is this thing? big ass go-cart?

It’s a kit car based off the old Lotus Super 7s. There were several real super 7s at the vintage grand prix this year. Pic of a “stalker” kit that uses a GM V6 and various S10 bits like this one:

howd you know mike?

I know the customer personally, and i’m considering building one myself.

To my knowledge, it is mostly timing belt issues. Given that the motor should be freshened up with new cam belt bearings and such, it won’t be driven that much and shouldn’t have the same problem’s as someone’s wife’s lumina with a lot of miles.

should have used the gn or typhoon v6 but that would be a good waste of a motor

Would make life a little easier, but whats the fun in that.

These are actually very stout engines. They are becoming more and more popular, ecspecially in the fiero community (see West Coast Fiero’s Turbo 3.4DOHC fiero) These 60* V6 engines were built very stong from the factory, and have great potential, big intake runners and valves etc. Its very easy to turn one of these into a rev happy monster with stock GM parts (thanks to midget car racing and hydroplane boat racing for that)

here’s an example of a pushrod version just for kicks, a Twin Turbo Hydroplane Engine, 3.4 Liter Block with the 2.5 Liter Crank (I think that makes it like a 3.0L or something)

Made my own Die cause I don’t know of anyone that sells three pipe collectors. That and I’m just to damn lazy to look for one. Only took a day
