I always liked a bigger windshield, not touring height but… call me a fggt if you will, it gets cold @ night, lol.

this showed up at my friend’s shop… dug out from behind his barn. it’s an old el tigre, engine is out of an ext modified, he’s got the factory 73 ext modified he’s going to restore and put this motor back into. sprayed a little gas in the carbs, and started on the first pull after being dormant for over 3 years…

who the hell did you talk to? red head kid?

No the other kid shaved head and beard

Must be a new guy, I should have never left there. Always ask for jay or Jr. Unless you know what you need / want.

I saw/raced this sled a the Shawnee drags a couple weekends ago.
At that point I hadn’t seen this thread at all, but my brother and I couldn’t get over how perfect this sled was. It was clean, quiet, and would clean your clock on the track. The Perfect setup.
Now that I’ve seen the work that went into it, I’m even more impressed. Awesome job man!
And the weight transfer was incredible btw!

bad bunny, thanks for the compliments, much appreciated. what sled did you have there? by any chance will you be going to arcade this sunday for the snow drags? shoot me a pm.

good that you know your cats because thats my next sled. lol

cant wait to see your project when it comes together.

on a side note, i went out to play a little bit today. i dont understand why noone else was out. they mustve been afraid of all the water. personally, i like playing jetski  and with how meticulous i am with maintenence, a little water wont hurt. wish i had someone to take pics/vids. oh well. heres two i took with my phone. otherwise, the sled is getting cleaned up and put away for the season. will get some changes over summer but for now its time to concentrate on the truck and get that done.

one out back

then went to play on the local unmarked trails. this section was about 75 foot long, deepest point is probably 10ft. i wouldve went the long way(horizontal to picture) which is a few hundred feet long, but couldnt find any good spots to line it up at. this section i was just rolling up and then at the edge puttin the hammer down. lol.

I love open water

so i figure i would bump this for the snowmobiliers on here…

the hood is off and at andy’s shop (zeons automotive on transit) so he can respray it black and add some airbrush work.

i am picking up a d&d y-pipe and single to replace my speedwerx y-pipe and stock single. i will be taking the d&d stuff to swaintech to have them coat it with their white lightning coating. they gaurentee a 3% hp increase, and that it is better then ceramic. at that figure, on my 800 i am looking at a 4-5hp increase-maybe.

i am redoing my torque arm setup a little bit differently while the pipe and hood is off.

i am also talking to a buddy to see if i can get ahold of some bigger jugs with some sneaky sneaky from him…

and finally after all of that i will be putting a new track under this pig. again, heavily studded, but will add in some angled backers down the center, regular backers on the outside. probably a mix of trail stud and roetin hornets(trailable ice pick) will also add in some big wheels in the back when the track is out

sorry but no pictures yet :frowning:

alright. got some updates on this pig.

re polished the tunnel. then made up a new / redesigned torque arm that i am much happier with. loosened up all the motor mount bolts and got the engine lined up right so my clutches are aligned right and then tightened it down rechecked the alignment then tightened down the torque arm. (had some issues last year with it lol) also cleaned the powervalves and set the adjustment on those.

hood is still at my buddy’s shop. hoping i get that back soon. the d&d y pipe and pipe is out getting ceramic coated right now.

bought a 121"x15"x1" hacksaw track today. got the old track out and the new one in, gonna go through the skid and make sure everythings ok before i put the rear suspension back in. ran out of time tonight though.

next time im in at hebelers i will be getting the studs and backers so i can stud the track.

ignore the airvents in the pic. those are for a '62 caddy im working on.
the new torque arm made and ready to bolt in.

Damn… i still have never ridden one of these before… they look like a blast

^^^^think crotch rocket on snow.

got the d&d y pipe and pipe back from hotshots today. got the ceramic coating done way sooner then expected. very happy with those guys, will be using them again for coatings. i also have the track in, waiting on my new idler wheels to come in. probably ordering studs this week.

you gonna have to pull the skid again to stud the track or can it be done with it in?

nah i’ll be studding it in the sled. ive tried studding before install and after, neither way seems to be any easier. installed the track first this time around so i could get things back together so theres less parts scattered on the floor til i get studs lol

finished studding the track today, and picking up my hood on monday.

hold onto that bit and template for a few more days. My studs should be in early next week. lol

Think you need more studs.
