Project ERASE is a project compiled of officers of the Peel region police and Ministry of transportation. No officer, duited in a race car will engage or provoke a street race only to arrest the other party. That has never happened and will not happed due to the fact that is violated conduct and results in activity potentially causing harm to others and generally unsafe. Project ERASE is set out to eliminate illegal vehicles and illegal modifications in vehicles. Only the parties caught racing by a police officer or MTO officer can be charged. Any and all bistanders cannot and will not be issuerd any charges for the fact that they are not guilty of anything except for the fact that they are supporting street racing by bieng there and there is no fine for that. Saftey inspections and mechanical inspections can and are performed on vehicles assumed to be illegally equipped. Project ERASE is set out to eliminate illegal rides, and eliminating illegal equipment and upgrades put on cars.
Some of the most commonly found illegal items are;
Chopped springs: which completly throw off the entire balance of the vehicle and making it vulnerable to lose control over bumps and in turns.
Power Steering Belt remover: Another stuupid move made by car owners, removing the powersteering belt actually ruins and restroys the vehicle quicker. The steering mechanism and steering assisst mechanism are made to work with a powersteering box, and removing the belt will innevitably cause the steering assembly to seize.
Camber is a big one: Many people are improperly lowering ther vehicle and setting the camber way off which causes lack of grip and control of the vehicle…
Lastly
Rubbing : another big one, Cars that rub are unsafe and the plates will come off. Rubbing is dangerous because it weakens control of vehicle and makes the vehicle vulnerable to loose control. illegal
FYI… There is no set lowering height limit. You can lower your vehicle as much as you want provided that mo part is touching the ground at any itme, no rubbers are touching any part of the steering assebly and / or body parts with pressure puching down when wheels are completly turned . and the camber is not visually out of adjustment.
