I got the RBC as a gift, but i know it was bought new from Honda. And yeah, same with me everything i read was biased to K-Pro, so i made a thread on K20a.org and asked for input on the AEM EMS and what’s different compared to K-Pro and a few vendors and people who build k swaps chimed in and said (some quotes)
like i mentioned, aem is for the very advanced race team. K-pro is more user friendly for those “daily driven” - k20addict(k20a.org sponsor)
I like my aem, and i liked my kpro. But for a dd id rather have kpro. With aem you can control everything. With aem it takes a few to get used to the software, but once you do, you have so much control on how your car acts. - vtecspeed1320(senior member)
you can use either for a daily driver. aem is a lil bit more complicated and goes a lil more in depth, while kpro is simpler to use but still can get the job done for everyone from a basic street setup to an all out race car… - JDM96SpecCTR(senior member)
So i came to the conclusion that the AEM EMS seems to be a lot better, but takes a little to get used to…It even has electronic traction control! :lol …Oh and another thing, for our motors (05-06 rsx-s) we need the 02-04 wiring harness.
I was waiting for someone to flame on my previous plans…I was originally planning on the K24 bottom end w/ the K20 head, and you can most certainly make 300whp all motor with that, but i decided against doing that…but once i get cams, pistons, rods, exhaust cut-out…i’ll put down atleast 300whp on the k20 (no k24 bottom end)
