Inspired by the dreams of Full-Race’s head engineer Geoff Raicer to own, modify and drive a US-spec Nissan Skyline GTR, project R14 promises to change the scope of sport compact performance as we know it.
Merging the legendary R32 Skyline GTR with an easily obtainable Nissan 240SX, Full-Race’s patent pending Project R14 is the first kit car in the sport compact industry. It is the first US-Street legal, Left-Hand-Drive (LHD), All-Wheel drive (AWD), Skyline GTR, yet it retains the appearance of an S13/S14 240SX.
Using a readily available and affordable complete R32 GTR front clip consisting of: RB26DETT engine, transmission/transfer case, front/rear diff & drive shafts, Double Wishbone suspension and brakes, Full-Race can convert any S13 or S14 240SX to a lightweight AWD Skyline GT-R.
No. I posted this because i thought it was interesting albeit a waste of money. The kit is rumored to cost in the area of 13,000 dollars and does not include any stock r-chassis suspension parts or the RB26DETT drivetrain. The overall cost after their parts, stock parts and labor should be about the cost of a comparable 300HP AWD vehicle with less mileage on its vital parts. I guess if your really a diehard nissan r and s chassis fanatic this is right up your alley.
I saw that car in person at SEMA, the full race-guys are pretty cool. It was a cool project, to bad it was just kind of thrown together last minute though.
Geoff Raicer at Full Race pricing was very reasonable and I was very interested in doing it, but sounded like too much trouble especially since I would have to part out the STi.
Also only like the 97-98 240s and they are hard to find and pricey…
95 and 96 are Zenki
97 and 98 are KOUKI roughly translated as late model.
Anyway mechanically no the Zenki and Kouki are the same. The difference visually is that the Zenki and Kouki have different fascia’s meaning that the hood/bumber/grille/headlights/fenders are different and so are the radiator core supports. The taillights are different and so are the guage clusters. Other than that they are the same. As for door weights I am going to venture and say they are the same. The early '95’s were OBDI the later '95’s were OBDII and so was everyother 240 from there on.
Yes, with all due respect if you wanted 300whp and awd you can get it AND with a warranty for about that cost. IE: find a sutiable chassis + parts +13 grand = about 28-30K.
Or you can buy a new subaru Sti or mitsubishi evo 9.
Or you can buy one of a thousand 1g awd dsm’s for sale on ebay for 4 grand. Of course no warranty implied and you WILL break parts LOL.
