Cage should be done in about a week or so… that’s been the major hold up. Once we get it back from there, I’ll do some seam welding and then the interior and engine bay will get painted.

Now thats how a cage should fit, not like some of the other nonsense we’ve seen on here lately. I think it would have been nice if the rocker boxes wrapped up over the top of the rocker as well, but :tup: :tup:

EDIT: Also happy not to see a halo with separate A pillar bars. The sigle piece roof / A pillar with the cross bar is SOO much better.

Thanks man, My cage guy and I have gone back and forth about different choices and structural options. We’re pretty happy with the outcome so far. I think he’s adding some ties from the front dash bar to the firewall and it’ll be pretty much done. Figuring out the seat mounts is what took the longest.

Most like some padding if we can fit it on the apillar bar, but as i said, I don’t believe its needed with full harnesses and a helmet.

What do you have to do in order to obtain and keep these sponsorships?
Are there requirements such as showing up at car shows and stuff?
LOL… I’ll probably end up tracking it more than drifting, but who knows. I’ve got both 240s that I’ll end up doing something with I’m sure. I certainly can’t break anything on the car before the magazine shoot and before a couple shows.
I still have a lot of connections in the industry which helps a ton, but writing a good proposal and having something that vendors will get a return on investment on is key. Exposure and media coverage are huge.

8k…I sure hope not. I have seen way more complex cages than this go for 4-5k. If its mild steel (which it should be unless you are drag racing or have more money than brains) and you dont need any interior put back, a really nice cage can be done at a pretty reasonable price.

EDIT: Cage and seat mounts etc look great. However, I still dont know why there arent any bars straight from the hoop to the rear shock towers, and just the X. Is that “legal” by anyones rules?
EDIT2: Maybee thats b/c you have the straight bars from the middle of the hoop to the rear shock towers. Im still not sure though…
