I currently own the infocus in24 projector. I would like to hook up a cable for cable tv. I do not have the cable box, because it’s being used in a dorm room. I merely just have the cord coming out from the wall. How do i hook that up to the projector as i dont have a coaxial input on the back of it. I only have s-video and such. Is there some type of adapter or seperate box I can purchase or some other way to do it?
You could use a VCR with component or S-video out, otherwise you need a cable-box; the projector does not have an internal tuner.
go to walmat get yourself an RF adapter, should be about $20, I use one because my DVD only has component and my old ass TV only has coax.
Basically it converts the 3 commom inputs/outputs (coax, component, s-video)
Make sure to take a look at the RF-adapter, you dont want to get it home just to realize you dont have the right hookups.
mike, ur forgetting that projectors dont have cable tuners in them
u need to get urself a tuner. as stated, the easiest is using a vcr or dvd player
or u can search the web for a tuner
yeah, but how is he going to change channels. You need some sort of tuner.
He’s asking how to listen to the radio and all he has is a speaker.
This won’t work though, there’s still no tuner to decode TV stations…
I currently have a ps2 and wii hooked up. I would hook the cable wire to the vcr, svideo into the vcr and svideo into the projector? And that would def work?
Is there another way of doing it without the vcr?
No there is no internal tuner in the projector as stated many times in this thread, your projector is nothing more than a monitor.
edit: n/m
How is newman wrong? he wanted to know if there is anyway to hook it up WITHOUT a VCR, the answer is with a cable box, thats it
oops read it wrong. i though he was saying he needs the cable box with the vcr,

ill edit
pffff
one day you will be wrong. and i will be right there to quote it and point it out
Did you figure this out? I know most college dorms let you get digital cable, at an extremely cheap price, so you may want to consider that.
I have an Infocus projector as well, but due to its lack of inputs, and high cost of bulb replacements, I’m considering moving away from it. We’ll see.

well I might as well beat the dead horse…
there is no internal tv tuner, so you need something with one…
fags…
also WHY DON’T PEOPLE USE THE FUCKING HUGE NERD CORNER WHERE THIS SHOULD RIGHTFULLY GO!
WTF like 5 or 6 threads a fucking day… christ people
also why not just out put it from your computer… its much easier to just s-video from there… depending on where you live (dorms at UB you are set) you can watch movies in great definition FUCK the cable we have here… it sucks ass…
