Karter, I’ve never met you, but you need to just use this place for what it is, and nothing more. It’s an internet car forum. You’re pretty active in the buying/selling part of it, and from what it seems, you got a pretty good rep. with all that. I wouldn’t concern yourself with every little thing that everyone says around here. Fuck everyone.

obviously there is an issue of some sorts if there is this much talk about it, seeing this thread go from an admin publicly calling out a member to an actual conversation has to tell you something. you aren’t the only one thats noticed it, obviously others have spoken up now also

You guys don’t know the history of how we’ve tried to accommodate & help him. The reason why I made this public is because it’s a pattern that hasn’t been broken by holding his hand, PMs, temp bans, etc. We’re done trying to help him but maybe you guys as a community can give it a shot.
Nikuk first noticed this pattern in '08. Karter would make a dumb post, people would pile on, he then he would get mad and bitch about the “state of the community” or “respect” or some other BS.
He once asked Fry to delete his account so he could just start over from scratch.
That’s just a taste of the 3+ year saga that is Karter. It’s obvious from these messages that he knows what the problem is and how to solve it. It has nothing to do with this forum or the way it’s run.
this coming from someone who helps run the site just shows how much class is really here…nice job proving a point

think about how many people have came to this site, stayed for a month and left, maybe 1K? maybe more? i’m sure a good portion of them would have been better members than a lot of the people that just post nonsense and flame all the time. a whole site merging with us, and almost all of them leave within a couple months, what does that tell you? there’s something wrong, no one wants to stand up and say something about it though, thats the issue.
obviously i’m not butthurt if i’m the one standing up and saying it, only for the good of the board. because i do enjoy reading things during the day at work, mostly car stuff but i will venture into OT to see whats up.
i’m not saying i’m sticking up for karter, i’ll say that again
he’s not the only one that ever gets flamed on this board, there are lots of people that become the brunt of things
i’m just voicing an opinion from someone who has ran a forum much larger than this for a lot longer of a duration.

noobs not coming back isn’t new to the internet. people make an account, say hi, then bounce. It’s NOT because they got flamed. It’s because they are not dedicated the board. They have nothing invested and they probably just forgot all about it. Happens everywhere on the internet. If every new member on every message board stuck around and continually contributed, there would not be enough hours in a day, bandwith on the net, storage on the servers, etc… to handle the traffic.
You know how many message board accounts I probably own, and how many I visit each day? It’s a VERY lopsided ratio.
