Put $ Down on a G8 GT Today

Looks good, way to save GM

Love the color. Very nice car.

very nice, there are some really good G8 specific forums out there

nice rideā€¦ They are on my list to check out when I go looking for cars again.

Impossibleā€¦ youā€™re going to lose your ass. Unless you total it somehow and your body shop/insurance pay out retail value.

ā€¦Or you can give it to me.

ill race you

Thanks all, when I first saw and read about these they sounded like a cool DD to have. The used market is pretty good (price to pay) and you get a lot of car for the $. Should be a fin car and it seems like if I wanted to put like $600 in it you can unlock 40-45 rwhp. They are tuned to run on 87 octane and with a tune and intake it really wakes them up. I doubt I will do it though I want to enjoy putting in 87 for a little while considering the GTP took 93. The color is what I liked, I looked it up and it seems there were only 700 or so made and that includes v-6 models. Then add in I wanted heated leather so it is a really lucky find for the deal I got.

Smokeyassturdface: bring on the slobaltā€¦but no twisties

why? that G8 should handle fine in the twisties?

and fuck it, run the 93 tune. what are you saving running 87? under $2.00 a fill up?

The new Cobalt SS is crazy fast through the twistiesā€¦it had the FWD record at the ring. It is designed to handle badass, where the G8 is designed to be a good handling 4 door sedan. Maybe a GXP could hang with the Cobalt but not a GT. Stock 1/4 mile dudes on the G8 board are running 13.5ā€™s so that is sweet and one guy with the tune and intake ripped off a 12.9.

One thing is I would want to keep the warranty, so I think the tune may void it.

rofl domestic bench racersā€¦

Nice. Have you checked flight prices to Albany? I drive there all the time. 45 minutes north of albany will be about 1100 miles round trip plus tolls both ways on 90. Donā€™t go I-80. Go to Erie and hang a right. Best way to get there.

I know, just getting an idea of what the car can do. Knowing my gay ass I will never race it anyways.

Yeah I saw that when I looked it up. Any idea of what the tolls would be? I am not sure if I want to drive a car up to then have to drive two back. I priced a one way rental and it was like $125 and I priced a one way ticket to Albany and it is $145. As of now I am leaning on flying to save timeā€¦hell for $145 it wont cost that much extra opposed to driving two cars and would be cheaper than renting one figuring in gas and tolls. I may even be able to get a buddy pass from a friend but I would risk not getting on my flight.

ā€¦ doesnā€™t it scare you that a car that was suppose to be stickered so high is already so low?

Sounds like you got a good deal especially with the leather etc. Nice ride!!

not really, he drove my SS already.

i think regardless of the price drop its still a lot of car for the price. good performance, classy looks and seemingly a fairly well-refined interior. id def drive one as a DD for that price. especially since it already took the initial (being used) hit. the ppl that bought them new seem to be satisfied with them, also.

Something like $12-$15 total one way. There is a small toll of a dollar or so after you cross the pa/ny border, then another big one that takes you all the way to I-87. We got ez-pass so I quit paying attention to the exact amount.

To take a car up and back will be about 100 in gas and tolls.

Edit: found this http://www.nysthruway.gov/tolls/calc/trip.cgi
$15.25 one way from PA border to I-87.

Cool thanks man. It looks like I may end up flying there and driving home myself. Not going to be cool, but not a bad price to save a lot of driving time.

Well it being a GM I didnt want to get new because of that. Then you also have to figure the new ones are going for around $27K with all the incentives, so it isnt too bad. But to get a one one year old that is nice for $6K less than new is good enought for me.

Iā€™m into it better than most are on used GCā€™s. I ainā€™t ā€˜givingā€™ it to no one (it only has 52k - weā€™ve put 10k on it in 1.5 years). I can just keep it & run it into the ground. It has given us very little trouble & has a Chrysler warranty until 2012. She likes it, but I canā€™t stand it. It is too cramped for me.

I told you Iā€™d sell it to you. You just like to punish yourself with those Nazi jig saw puzzles

I wish I had the money, I miss mine everydayā€¦ /threadjack

Congrats Bics ! !

Youā€™ll have to bring it up the shop so we can check it out once you get it
