can you legally pass inspection if you have an obd1 ecu in an obd2 car?
or do you have to put the obd2 ecu back in and put stock injectors back in?
everytime i ask people about this they just say that “they know people”
Hey man I think you actually emailed me awhile back when I had my civic for sell on craigslist.
The key is to get it inspected with the OBD2 ecu on initially.
Once you have this inspection keep it under 5000 miles a year and they will not do emissions on the the car so it doesn’t matter if your OBD1 at that point.
Emissions exempt <5000 miles/ year
have a DD if you plan on turbo… problems always arise
If you get a proper tune and and beat the car to hell it can make a great daily driver. Hell my DD has been turbo’d for 2 years now on a shitty basemap. Only problem has been oil leaking from the used turbo(happened the day I installed it) Ran it for two years and it never siezed up. Also had a HG leak because I miss-shifted. Had 1st-Try replace the oem with ARP studs and haven’t had any issues for a year now.
