'94 Caprice LT1…I’d like to lose the smog equipment and EGR. On my Mustang and my SHO the computers corrected any imbalance, was wondering how the GM/Caprice computer reacts??? If all is well I will be blocking all this crap off. ALso, the car does not have a check engine light so I’m not worried about that end of things, just want to make sure the engine performs well.
On my bird, I just had to program the stuff outta the ECU and it ran fine. Pulled the Cats, EGR, and Airpump all off.
Should be the same from what I remember, just easier to program out or “trick” seeing there are no after-cat O2s.
Yes, just get that stuff programmed out of the computer. It will run fine.
How do I go about pregramming it out??? What if I just block this stuff off without reprogramming…does the car not run well then???
My car never threw any codes when I had my headers installed (non-egr) and took out the cats. It’s a '94 OBDI car.
