ive pulled about 40-50 engines in my life probally 10-15 of mine on projects over the years…the rest friends cars and trucks…i have 1 out right now about to go in this weekend…its not a hobby its an obession…lol.

if you want to do it that way go for it but your trany can fit through your fender so you don’t even have to drop the subframe completely soposedly. i use to have a shoforum link to the writeup but the link is no good now.

never in any of my own cars. first and only one i ever did (well, i helped) was in my friend’s 1990 Lincoln Mark 7 LSC. the blovk is out for machining and all that good stuff, so soon i will get to help put it back in.
once in the tercel and once in the regal. never put the motor back in the regal just sold it
about 5 motor pulls in the accord and had the head off 3 times …
I pull trannys out all day long. Oh wait thats because I work at a Tranmission Shop. The most I have ever done was 2 Tourasses, 1 BMW, and a Manal Frod F-150 tranny in 8 hours. the F-150 was a 89 2-wheel drive. It was so easy. But the Tourasses with the ADOE Trannys suck!
Believe me, I have been in and out of this car more than I had ever hoped for…with everything I need to do to the car I’d rather just pull it all at once and deal with it, it’s the fastest and easiest solution. That motor/trans can be pulled nearly as fast as changing spark plugs…not a big deal.
