1990 Honda Accord is the problem vehicle this time.
What’s happening is the heat will in fact warm up as you can feel it at high-wayish speeds coming through the vents, but the blower doesn’t always turn on.
I did notice that the battery terminals/connections were very corroded and the battery seems low, at idle, if you turn on the rear defroster and other electrical items the idle drops a noticable amount.
I’m going to clean those and charge the battery, my question is, would this be causing the blower not to function if the battery is too low to power it?
Sometimes if the car idles long enough and you mess with the connections it’ll kick on.
Any other ideas?
This sounds more like electrical connection. If it was a battery/charging issue related to the power drain, then NOT having your defroster on (which is a resistance-based draw and pulls more amps than your blower motor) would solve the problem and you could run the blower without the rear defrost. The fact that you can “mess with the connections” and get it to work is a strong indication that it’s related to wiring/grounding/contacts, and not the health of your battery.
Yeah there is something loose or coming loose it was doing terrible then i sat in the car and it all kicked back on, so I just need to find out what’s coming disconnected…it affected dash lights heat/blower clock in the dash and the brake light came on. humph.
Transmission ground strap.
Clean all grounds,
see if works
