please see my post about the shear strength of a finish nail.
I’m guessing it said the shear strength of a finish nail is > 200 pounds?
What if the trim carpenter was a hack and didn’t hit a stud? Or glued the trim to the drywall? Or it’s the new synthetic foam trim?
Anyways, yeah I suppose if your doorway is built well then you wouldn’t have a problem. The horizontal trim only having a Y force applied is a good point.
^ you’re thinking that a large force is going to be applied to the trim in a pulling AWAY from the wall mentality… you will be putting a small amount of downward force on the trim SPREAD EVENLY across the plane of the trim. The trim is absolutely necessary to make it hold, also, even with the extensions (which were not a part of the argument) do not stick out far enough to generate force/friction on the vertical frame of the door/horizonal part of the wall, to hold up a persons body weight… without trim in place.
I cant wait for geoff to be proven wrong… and half the engineers on this site.
those extensions do not stick out nearly enough… fools.
it all depends on the coefficient of friction, will. What is the “trim bar” coated with, if anything?
I think it is some rather slippery plastic… like blow molded PET or something.
edit: there might be a rubber grip strip though…
no you dont
Ask all the engineers how long it takes to cover a mile when going 90mph… bitch.
^i concede… you are correct about the time to go 90 mph, even though i hate it. lol.
I cant wait for you and geoff to try to do a pullup though.
Nor can I. Not that I give a shit anymore. lol
PAulo is getting cranky…
now this 90mph to go a mile… are we talking a mile of vertical elevation? or a mile at a 45 Degree incline. is it just wheel speed, or is this mile going to start at 0mph and hit 90 mph when it goes 1 mile?
90mph straight up your ass.
constant 90mph. To cover 1 mile distance. That’s it. And guess who still wants to argue false logic?
well i dont have a mile long colon… sooo you’re dumb
lol false logic… thats about as easy as it comes lol
however, I have heard that your rectum is ~1mile wide.
My logic was … 60 mph = 1 mile = 1 minute…
120 mph = 1 mile = 30 secs…
90 mph must be half… why not? lol. 45 secs…
but its 80 mph to go 1 mile in 45 secs… I’m so bewildered… but paulo > me there…
Like i said, i concede. I’m the bigger man.
LOL silly goose… not a bad guess though.
HAHAHA. Except when you think you’re right.
BUMP…
does anybody own this, can you post a video of you hanging from it, without the molding around the door? id appreciate it… especially if you dont get hurt when you fall on your ass.
Um, yea. I just tried it. Definitely a no go. It starts to slide right away.
I almost asked why this is not true. But instead I decided to give it a shot: (sorry, I don’t know how to keep everything lined up)
90 miles X 1 hour
1 hour 60 minutes
the ‘1 hour’ crosses off, leaving
90 miles =
60 minutes
3 miles X 2 minute =
2 minutes 120 seconds
the 2 minutes cross off…
3 miles = I fail at showing work. It’s 1 mile in 40 seconds.
120 seconds
PS. scott… i like your sig… and i like our smarts. xo.
