Yeah, it can be done. I had a rear facing seat in my RX8 (although my passenger front seat could not really be used). But I DD my RX8 in good weather and I fit my 5y/o and 2y/o with me and I’m 6’3". Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
I didn’t even realize cloth was an option. I would think that would make one of these a rare combo in the future. I love the e46 cloth seats. Personally I would rock an M3 daily as a lease and not think twice about winter. If I wanted a $70k coupe that I only drove in summer something a bit less common like an Aston Martin would seem cooler to have tucked in the garage.
Not sure if anyone has been following them but used F10 550i m-sports seem very reasonable for how much car you get for a fun daily.
The residuals dropped this month and the mf went up, hope everyone got in on the deal last month for leases
I’m still debating on what to do. The M4’s look nice but for 70k I’m still a bit hesitant especially how much more car I can get for that price (new or used). I’m also worried about the huge drop in value if I decide to sell/ trade-in. I’d go sedan M3 (or something comparable) but I’ve owned sedans my whole life.
I looked at leasing options on both M3/M4 but a $700 to $800 payment is just silly to me. Sure you’ll have a decent residual at the end of the term but I can’t justify a payment that high.
I’ve actually been looking at a few used Aston Martins lately…
Either way I’ve got to sell my truck first before I do anything as it will be my main income for what ever I decide to do.
I have always had a thing for the V8 Vantage

Same here
You make a good point about value, I do have to say the E90 M3 held it’s value well until the next best version came along. I remember being able to buy a new one in the 50s at one point, and even 3-4 years later still seeing them not dip below 40K used. That’s really not that bad.
On another note, I spent some time behind the wheel of my friend’s 2015 M3, and it IS a really nice daily. So well put together and well rounded. If I could drive a nice daily and it not impact my job I would probably have gone that direction instead of upgrading my P-car
X…
so you have the VW for work and the P-car for play?
i’ve been criticized for driving my M3 around daily on account of client-optics but imho fuck them
i guess it depends on your profession, i am in sales and while i get some “negative” comments i typically get compliments and some have even said that they know they’re in good hands if im driving such a nice car
Yep, Xander and I work together and I have the same thing… A4 wagon for daily/work (cause Americans don’t think anything about wagons, no matter the badge pretty much) and the P-car for a toy. When I had the BMW 335 for a daily, all I heard was shit comments from stupid clients, not a good way to start a deal for sure. Even though it’s their own hating/stupidity that is the issue over a “luxury brand” worth $35K and they have a $50K+ pick up truck or SUV in the driveway :banghead:

I got that too, it’s the ones that don’t say anything about it that’s hard to tally. Plus the profession may really matter here as we are direct to homeowner sales in their home.
I’ve also looked at a few lightly used 2013-2014 Porsche Cayman -S that seem to be priced at the same range of an M4. I still think I’d be getting a bit more car with the M4. I’m sure the insurance is a different animal too on something like that. I’m laughing at all the comments from your clients. I just want a nice expensive car to piss off my family members because you know they’re the first to say anything when it comes to money… well at least my in-laws family are like this.
What about a GT-R or is 6mt a must?
I’ve looked at those (not in person) but I’m honestly not a huge fan of the styling; the numbers on the car are enticing though. Manual is a must for me…
Every time I look at this guy’s car I’m leaning more towards an M3 is Yas Blue…
i stand by my two original color suggestions
i really like the orange, however it wont be available again until 2016
i really really want to like that blue but it looks to “baby blue” in person for me
I’d think i would have to see it in person before i made that decision…
After thinking about this and seeing both an M3 and M4 in person I’ve decided to go for the M3 (much more head room and room in the back for the kids).
The only problem I’m having is choosing a color…
I’m torn on an individual special color San Marino Blue and Alpine white.
Down side with the SM Blue is the extra cost of $5000 and maybe an extra few weeks to a month to build.
Alpine white is nothing special but it won’t cost anything extra…
The extra cost for the SM Blue would probably be more of a sunk cost when I go to sell it or trade it in.
The other thing is I’ve always wanted an orange/ red interior on an M3. That would look good in the Alpine White but not so much in the Blue IMO.
Opinions needed!!
Thanks!
That blue is great but I’d go white/red.
you made the right choice on the M3… i put my 2 boys in the back of my M3 all the time and it’s great. the back of the front seats on the E90 M3 are plastic and easy to clean the foot marks off too.
go with the white… $5k is a lot of money even though that blue is clearly cooler than white. you’re right though, it will be a totally sunk cost.
