as i’m sure most of you saw i had placed an order in March for a 2015 m3 due to being able to sell my 2011 s4 for a great price and the pricing/discounts on the m3 were something that i couldnt pass up.

I’ve wanted an m3 for the longest time and if you asked me 5 years ago when i graduated college I would never have thought I’d be driving a brand new one!

xpel bumper, mirrors, headlights
IND painted sidemarkers
m performance black grille surrounds
M performance lip and splitters (getting shipped now)

i ordered this car in March with an expected end of May delivery, however to do some shortages (primarily cf roof) it was pushed back. On June 29th i recieved this picture from my salesman

I then made sure to get to the dealer 10 minutes before close so i could pick it up, i cant explain how 3-4 months of waiting makes you feel the first time you see your new car

my next day off was detail day, if you notice in the first picture i picked it up without any dealer installed swirl marks and they left all plastics on the car for me to take off.

for the detail I
-spray foamed mtm cannon
-2 bucket washed
-sprayed down with Iron-X to get all the metal contaminants off the paint
-used nanoskin autoscrub to further clean the paint (replaces having to clay bar the car)
-polished using meguiars #7
-cleaned off all oils etc with IPA 50/50 solution
-applied cquartz UK ceramic coating (rather easy to work with)
-topped off with cquartz reload
-cleaned interior
-scotchguarded the carpet and seats
-used 303 for dash and all plastics

installed the grille and sidemarkers

then today i installed 75mm studs (replaces the lug bolts), cleaned the wheels and installed 12mm spacers

What lip did you go with? I ordered a mode carbon m performance style spoiler 4 weeks ago and still nothing yet.

Also on the side markers… what color are those? Can’t tell… I’d like to black mine out.

Not sure how brand new cars are with the baking process and everything but you aren’t supposed to wax paint for 30 days after it was sprayed. Maybe it’s already that old with transit time and everything?

p/s, even though it’s too late for euro delivery you should definitely make it to Munich sometime and get the factory tour/drive in Germany.

Can’t wait to see the splitters and front lip installed! You plan on lowering?

i really want to lower just the front like 1/2", but if i do it wont be until next year

not true, almost all dealers put some type of wax on the car when detailing it for sale

factory paint is baked on and no issues at all, not to mention it has been almost a month since it was sprayed

yes, for painted in a garage that is true.

new cars from a factory do not need any cure time
