R32 GTR Wheels on S13 (16x8 +30)

sasha isn’t tubed and doesnt have anything that isnt off-the-shelf in the front suspension.

SPL outters, Cusco TC rods, stock LCA’s, Stance coils etc.

^^ tubbed wheel wells is the same as banging your wells with a sledge (unless i remember wrong but thats wat he told me he did to accomodate his big tires)

i think the real question is.

what is handling?

define that and go from there. talking about anything else is useless and meaningless since thats where all this is coming from.

dude…

not even on the same plane of existence.

tubbed VVV

if you can do that with a sledge hammer then let me know if you are free tomorrow night.

ok, maybe i dont know what a quick steering rack is

but my understanding is that it has NOTHING to do with steering angle… thats what tie rod spacers are for.

a quick steering rack means that you have a closer ratio of steering wheels rotation to tire rotation.

for example, if you have your steering wheel in the center position with your tires pointing straight ahead and you start to turn to the left - it might take about 1.5 turns of the steering wheel to turn your wheels all the way to the left, say for examples sake that is 45 degrees to the left. (I’m just making these numbers up for explaination purposes).

A quick steering rack could turn that 1.5 turns of the steering wheel to reach 45 degrees of tire angle in to only 0.75 degrees of steering, but its still only 45 degrees of actual tire angle.

this is why i say human limitation - a human is only capable of turn a steering wheel from full lock to the left to full lock to the right as a certain speed when it takes 2.5 full rotations from lock to lock. but if you change that in to 1.5 rotations from full lock to full lock the same human can do it a lot faster.

this is why a quick ratio steering rack’s only real benefit is to compensate for human limitations… it does not improve handling, turning radius, etc.

again, this is my understanding - if I am wrong please forgive me (and correct me).

john, samson… you guys both need to stop posting about this stuff.

you’re going to confuse alot of people that might take what you are posting as fact rather than dialogue.

mang, why do you think my name is Samson?

better recognize

to be honest… you guys are wrong all over the place, but i dont have the background to prove it.

i am sure sasha or mr. awesome (take a guess who i mean) will eventually post the e-quivalent to a smack down sometime soon.

cause of that.

id be happy to hear a more sophisticated explanation to this.

all in all, this all started to when i said handling will go to shit.

i still stand by that as my definition of handling is the responsiveness of the car and how it takes the input of the driver and also send feedback to the driver, ie. allowing the driver to feel the road.

whatever, i just wanna drive lol

enough of this internet racing talk or watever you want to call it.

Regardless…I wish a certain someone was here to prove everyone wrong, and prove infact that a stock ford taurus would decimate any 240 on the track, any day.

no seriously, i want to know if im right or wrong about the quick steering rack thing

^^ i think you are right big guy.

i didn’t understand what you mean’t by human restriction, but i get you now

i had the tie rod spacer in mind WITH quick rack as well

i stand corrected on this steering rack discussion

Yes, quick ratio steering simply makes it so you reach lock in fewer turns than normal. Does nothing for steering angle.

AHAHAHA that samson is a rival opponent for even hercules himself! he killed many philistines…even spartans are no match!
