looking for a 2005 r6 frame. anyone know where i can get one. needs to have a clean or salvage title
damn 1500 is alot. the frame is good its just theres a lean on the title.
bikebandit.com sells one for $1260
Why are you worried about the lien?
yea i dont have 2 grand.
Whose lien is it? Yours or the previous owner’s?
Sometimes you can still register a vehicle with a lien on the title but normally all you need is a lien release from the previous owner to get it off the title.
its the previous owners. he baught the bike in 2005 new and stopped payin in 2007 but no one ever contacted him or tried to get the bike back. i dont know if the frame is the same as an r6 since my bikes a yzf 600. theres only like 3500 left but im just gettin a frame. when we were movin it cops checked the plates and said nothing came up and let us go so idk.
CHRIS IS STILL ALIVE AND KICKIN!
:bowdown
yea i just work so damn much. tommo is my bday and i gotta work all damn day than try to find a damn frame
I am lost on whats going on here.
Sounds like your buying a half repoed, half stolen, probably whooped R6?
Yeah frames are expensive BTW.
not illegal at all. bike only has 3000 miles runs like a champ. i found a frame for 900 but its salvage title
Yeah frames with a clean title are hard to find. too many squids bend them up, or wrech the rest of the bike and didnt pay it off so insurance takes it and puts a salv. title on the vin.
finding one with a clean title is a LONG shot. it would have to be paid off, wrecked and the owner just wants to part it out.
this ones paid off with a salvage title but the frame is promise to be strait or i get my money back
The frames are not the same. Also you’d be wasting your money buy going with a salvaged titled frame. You would have to get it registered in VT which isnt a big deal or have the entire bike inspected by someone from nys before you can get it registered here. clean titled frames with no damage go for a little bit of money.
damn i guess im gonna have to spend 1500
I still dont know what the hell your trying to do? It sounds like you bought a bike from someone that didnt make payments on so the bank/real owner has a lien on the title. So you think that your going to replace the frame and get this thing on the road? If this isnt a shady deal, pay the man what he wants for the bike, under the agreement that he pays off the balance of the loan. bank releases the title and they sign it over to you.
Not to mention the logistics of this. New bike aprox $11K with tax, intrest rate of .07, est loan ammount is $183 a mo. If he stopped in 2007, that means there is aprox $6600 left on the loan. Say the bike has 5kmi, it is worth maybe $5600. Say you were stupid and paid him $3000 which would be a good deal if you could ride it home. this dead beat needs to fork over 2600 to get the loan paid, which he prolly wont or they wouldnt be in this situation. but lets keep going. You pay $3000 for this + $900-$1500 for a frame and clear title your $3900-4500 deep into this bike. Why not bust open a want ad and pick up a clean titled ride for that price. Not to mention the wasted time building a bike from the frame up again.
Honestly this sounds like a shady ass deal. Also if you get a salvage titled frame and the vin doesnt match the engine cases vin, I think the nys inspector will ask questions at the time you try to get this thing titled. Then they can just run the vin from the case and find out whats up.
^ What he said + IF you are involved in an accident and your insurance company found out you didn’t actually own the bike, you better pray you are the only one involved. Otherwise the 2 grand you save will be nothing compare to if someone got hurt and your insurance won’t cover it and they are suing you for millions in medical.
idk man.
That to a point. If somehow the “new” frame passed nys titlement inspection and was writen out in his name, and the insurance company holds a policy for it, it wouldnt be any different than a normal bike on the road. BUT I do see NYS asking some questions about titleing it. I know a guy who runs a auto body shop, for the last 30 years and has done many savlage/rebuilt… titled projects. when you tow it over to NYS to have it inspected they question EVERYTHING. He has to show recipets for where he got parts… etc.
If it were so easy to get a frame off ebay, then just walk to dmv and say here is my title and bike I want it on the road. I am just going to go rob a bike, get a frame and slap it together and call it a day. It doesnt happen like that for the primary reason I just gave.
why are you even bothering with a junky yzf 600…ditch that shit, and spend the money on a used R6.
