Race car wishlist

Well guys, we will be picking up the new soon-to-be race car 240sx. But since this will be a project completely funded by the clubs members (not the club) we are going to need some help.

First off it needs a bit of rust repair. Anyone who feels comfortable welding up some holes in the rocker panel should contact me. Matt, you were saying you were getting some mad bodywork skills?

As for actual parts we will need quite a bit. Thanks to everyone who has already thought about giving us some parts.

Heres the list:

Tranny that doesnt grind (baker_jeff or New Direction may donate)
Hinges for hood (baker_jeff may donate)
KA24DE pistons to lower compression (RS13 may donate)
Battery (RPS13 may donate)
Turbo - Not too picky, but has to be of decent size (Chromey may donate his Z31 T3)
Injectors (Might buy from Jack)
Manifold
Intercooler
Intercooler piping
Oil lines
Blow off valve
MAF (Z32, Maxima, something bigger)
Cone Filter (nis_mo may donate)
Struts/springs or coilovers
Racing seat and harness
Roll cage
Wider wheels and tires
Hood pins
Strut tower bars
SAFC (I may donate)
Sway bars
Electric fan
Thermostat
Aerobody (baker_jeff may donate some pieces)

So not everything is absolutely needed, this is just a wishlist. If you are selling any of these parts for cheap or would like to donate them to us, we’d be MORE than thankful.

Also as the project progresses we will be looking for people to donate their time and effort to get this beast to run.

I will post up pics of the car once we get it within the next few days.

I’d also like to thank HotWheelz for giving us an AWESOME deal on his car.

Well, I’ll let you know about the battery in the next few days, and I may be able to fabricate a roll cage in the coming weeks. I’d gladly donate both.

I talked to Josh and we’ve decided we can donate some suspension parts courtesy of Fulblown Motosports (strut bars and the like).

Haha wicked. If that Saab 9000 intercooler works it’s all yours…errr ours. The turbo I’m not completely sure about, but we’ll see as we go down the road.

My body work skills aren’t overly amazing, but if we get a group of members together we should be able to sand and paint the car quite nicely over a weekend. Rust will be the biggest issue and hopefully we’ll be able to rid the car of anything significant before we get it going. I know it’s lame, but if we’re putting a bodykit on it and there are areas that we can just cut the rust out and cover it, that’s always an option. So long as the area isn’t structural and we ensure it is properly cleaned and sealed we shouldn’t have to worry about rust reappearing any time soon.

I have a brand new fibreglass vented headlight cover (driverside) if you want it…I couldn’t get the color matched exact, that’s why I’m not using it.
I also have a battery.

I was thinking about upgrading my BOV to an SSQV in the near future so I may have an extra APEX’I 3 sound adjustable laying around later.

I can donate a stock skyline by pass valve with the stock mounting pipe. Im not sure how much boost you guys want to run…

Probably won’t ever make it past 10psi so I’m sure a stock unit would be sufficient.

Yeah a stock bypass valve would kick ass! And Z3NKI we will definately take your vented light cover.

Matt, we should be able to get the 9000 IC to fit I think.

If we’re cutting shit anyways I think we could manage. From what I remember there are a lot more access points to run piping in the S13 than a Z31.

I got mad stickers … I’ll donate some …

Screw stickers man, chalkboard paint. We’re drawing our decals on! :E

HA HA HA, I love this project already. :E

Jeff, if Fullblown is donating suspension bits to us, make SURE you get me a window sticker/banner so we can rep you guys.

We’ve got some nice ones in, brushed metal and stuff.

Noice!

Can’t wait to see this car come together.

I have the OK to use my Grandma’s truck to pick it up this weekend. Wonder what my neighbors will think…

Im hoping/assuming this thing is getting completely gutted…meaning lexan rear window, windown nets, no interior, no power steering, no AC, etc. Am i right??

haha Daymn!! No problem guys i’ll be there to get dirty and help on the build… i cant wait to see it finished and to taker around the track all done up… haha so now do we get to wave my NECC sign up fee  hehehe

Well, the car isn’t going to get quite THAT gutted initially - but eventually it’s likely that it will be.

I also had an offer by someone offsite to have a machinist lighten the flywheel, so that’s handy!

put the brembo calipers off your sentra on it.

i wana see this thing stitch welded. if its a track slut make it STIFF…but i want to see this thing look very good…either asexy paint job or flat black…u can never go wrong with flat black  also there better not be any sketchy wireing going on…me and allen are picky about that shit and will be dissapointed if we see ghetto wireing

HAHA but this is going to be sweet when it comes together
