I bought my car with an aftermarket radio in it and it did work at one point, i then let the car sit for 6 weeks. I started it and the radio has never worked since. I checked all the fuses in the fuse panel and there all good. What else could it be? The radio has zero power going to it so i think there might be another fuse some where. Anyone got any ideas?
Check the wiring behind the deck.
There may be a fuse behind the deck. Try that out.
try replacing the fuse’s anyway… even if they look ok… sometimes you cant see the break.
pull the deck out… check for power behind the deck with a test light…
make sure the fuse on the back of the deck isnt blown.
check to see if there is a fuse on the power cable that could be blown.
make sure the deck has a good ground…
try allll that and if it doesnt work come back again
–make sure you use a test light to check power of wires…–
ok well i tried all the test lighting and its all good im guessing the deck is some how fried, its weird though its nov 2004 deck
The wiring diagram i got is as follows:
constant 12v- red/black
switched 12v -blue
ground-chassis
Illumination…
Dimmer…
etc…etc
The thing i dont understand is this ground=chassis…what color is the ground wire from the stock harness anyone know? All the other wires i have for the diagram make sense except this one.
what kind of deck is it?
I dont think it matters but its a Pioneer DEH 3700MP
Ahh yes it is ground=chassis but in my car it’s ground=nothing. The funny thing is the deck worked when i first got the car but not after i took off my bumper enter x-files noise
Its all good now cheers :drinkers:
in my world, all grounds are green. But I think in Nissans, grounds are fairly consistently black. Just an FSM for exact specs. Arn’t there adapter plugs for decks?
I remember when I hooked a deck up in my 180, whenever I would turn my headlights on my ground would turn into a 12volt source shutting it off. I just had to run a new ground and everything was all better.
yeah i think all the japanese cars are like that…for me turning my lights on would blow the tail lights fuse and the dash lights…headlights would keep working haha :partyman:
there is a fuse in the deck and you will only get acc 12v volts to your power source. Also all nissan JDM cars have a self ground which means they ground by the mounting brackets not in the harness even if you think you wired it up there isnt one. Its in the corner of the harness but ya not on the harness, in the car harness. Id guess get a volt meeter and see if your geting 12v with your acc on and to see if the fuse in the deck is blown cuz that can tell you if you had a ground in the open cercit and also to just simply cheak if you even have a ground. I bet its one of those 3. If there is no power you will have to hard wire it off your ignition and you would use the blue wire on your ignition if its a nissan and that will give you 12v acc! Hope that helps
