My radio stopped working. I have a brand new deck now and the radio still doesn’t function.
Does anyone know if there is a fuse somewhere I am missing? The cd player works fine it is just the radio. Thanks for the help guys.
Ryan.
Uh, if your deck is working properly and it plays a CD, then your radio should work too. Did you hook up the antenna wire to your deck? If you didn’t, you have to buy the Nissan/Infiniti adaptor or wire up your own, because the factory plug is different. After that is plugged in, and you still don’t get a signal, there might be a broken connection to your antenna.
Do you hear static from the radio but music from the CD? I’m still trying to figure out what you’re asking.
If you have a power antenna I think there is a fuse for it, but it has to be wired up properly for it to work.
yeah, antenna +rear glass antenna, the plug is two prong, I got hosed for $24 at a local stereo shop for the 2->1 adaptor plug
Yes I have the adapter. I get static and 102.1 works a bit. Its not a power antenna
The thing is there has to be a connection because the deck needs the antenna to power it up. The adaptor is second hand but I would assume it works since my deck powers up.
OK… the stock radio system uses the Antenna as a ground, hense why your deck needs the antenna to power up.
I say you take the black ground wire coming from the deck and ground it somewhere seperate then do the following
Take your antenna adapter and flip it. If you look at the adapter you’ll see that all it does is take the antenna 2 plug and convert it to the regular prong by using only the power antenna side of the 2 prongs. If you flip/rotate the adapter 180degrees it will use the in-glass antenna prong… if that works then you know that your power antenna is fux’d. You’ll get 20% less signal strength from the in-glass antenna but is is not that bad at all
Thats a good Idea, ill give that a try. Thanks for the help! By the way its NOT a power antenna.
