Random Break Leak, and Trickle Charger?

So I started my car and back it into the driveway as I do every couple of days, realizing that my brake pedal is going to the floor, I yanked the E-Brake. Looking infront of my car I see a puddle of brake fluid out of my garage aka it just happened as I was backing it out. I have no idea how/why this happened. When I bought the car it was driven to my house, but hasnt left the driveway since- it’s been a month now. I would look under myself but I don’t have a jack that will fit under and its a little too cold to be screwing around with my car, considering i have a tranny leak to fix as well, I hope this isn’t normal in 240s lol.

Secondly, I was wondering if leaving a trickle charger hooked up to the battery would do any harm, I have a car alarm and it kills the battery if I don’t turn the car on for about 2 weeks.

Does your charger allow for auto shut off?

Yezzir.

In regards to your brake system problem it sounds like your hydraulic brake lines need to be replaced.

In regards to your battery draining, it sounds like either you have a decent drain on the electrical system or you have a battery thats on the way out.

You can use a trickle charger and that should be able to maintain power within your battery, but I would say check your CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) after you take the car for a bit of a drive. If they are significantly below the advertised CCA on the battery itself it may be time to replace the battery.

If your car is in a driveable state you can bring it by my shop and I can tell you what the problem is at no charge.

I am located at the corner of Keele & Steeles in north york, if you live a distance away and your brakes are completely toast I wouldn’t recommend driving it though.

If you want more details or need more information PM me.

In any event, goodluck with your situation.

Ah,the car is not driveable. Thanks alot though, I appreciate your offer to help. I guess now would be a good time to do a 300zx swap.
