So how deep into the thumb tip before I should consider having a doctor look at it? Was trimming a corner of piece of plywood and it slipped…don’t ask.
Its from the top and went right through the nail, cutting a 3rd of the way into my thumb, just before the end of the nail. Bleeding is controllable.
I’ll say this, the Stanley “Fat Max” blades that came with the new knife are certainly the best cutting I have ever used. I went with the tried and true 99E, usually comes with crappy blades.
I pulled it open a little just for you guys…ok it kinda sorta just a happened when I opened up the “dressing” but otherwise it stays together pretty good.
As said, not much they can do given the time lapse. Your body has likely already began the meshing phase where it begins to heal inside out. Still might be worth going in for that tetanus shot though. 8/
Looks like that didn’t hurt given how sharp the blade was, but I’m sure it will be hurting soon if it isn’t now. The Quickie Care place can probably give you pain meds too…if you’re into that sorta thing.
Yeouch! Given the location I’m not seeing how they could have even stitched it. Probably just a matter of keeping off infection now. I’d just keep it gauzed/taped up and clean at this point. Maybe do 5 shots of jack, bite on a broom handle, and pour some peroxide on it.
not totally true, my friends dad sliced his thumb literally in half with a saw, taped it back together and hes still got it… just cant really feel anything though.
