looks good
what technique u think he uses to get back loose?
it looks like a bit of weight transfer + maybe hb? or braking drift?
looks to me like power over/braking/wieght transfer
i bet he never touches the brakes, this is probably “his” spot and goes there always and knows exatcly how hard to turn to over power and get the perfect drift, all power over.
But he did use the brakes, you need the brakes to change direction-he probably used the brakes a bit- it may be “his” drift spot, but you still need brakes…
In one part of the vid you see his brake light come on for a second, while transfering from one side to another.
you don’t need brakes to change directions trust me, its a technique to help control it but like i said he probably knows just the right amount to keep sliding. I would agree more with you if it was a sharper change of directions but its pretty gradual, but i could be wrong i cant see his feet, this is my interpretation judging it with the way i drift and others i’ve seen.
i just watched it again and your right the lights go on for a split second but its after he has got control and before the next turn, he is probably coming out of the first too fast and is slowing down for the next one which may be sharper. … but again i could be wrong my interpretation.
^^^Exactly, I’m not sure how many of you have seen the Drift Bible, but Drift King(not too sure of his real name) says that braking is crucial and to change direction on an ‘s’ turn, you can use the brakes to change the weight around to go the other way.
__<<"A"

“B”__|<<
Heres the corner- 2 90degree angles, a small straight in between, just enough room to change direction.
You travel along “A”, use whatever technique, probably weight transfer/braking, then after the corner your facing “A”, a quick tap of the brakes, then your facing “B”, then you finish the drift.
I use that in GT3
Agreed
“in regards to drift masters comment”
but when you come out of a drift your cars natural momentum pulls you the other direction, the brakes will make it sharper. notice he glides for a second straight then brakes then glides the goes into the next, if you brake you’ll get like takumi’s faint drift against the redsuns a really sharp drastic change in direction that is so strong it would pull that car over to the other lane, it can be very viloent.
it can be very viloent
I think if you don’t do it properly, it can be violent- but even so, its probably pretty hard…
I think I’ll watch that Drift Bible some more…
you can see what i’m talking about with the gliding then braking the gliding on the second time when you can see his brake lights, so the 4th run.
you must also note that he is not facing straight when he does this so it may look like he is sideways but he is not, he is facing straight going diagonally down the street this way when he turns again he has good deal of momentum.
Ya, I think the braking was to slow him down a little…
I think he also tapped the brake to get the back end out a little more, so that he could get the tail out better for the corner, possibly to make a smoother exit and not get a tank-slapper.
Look at the marks onthe ground hes been there before.
He doesnt really have that much skill.
You give me that much power and a corner to practice at and ill show you skill.
from the incar vid it sounds like he is using the hand brake
