well its gonna be the first on road ive fucked with so i dont want it 2 nutty…
As of right now it’s only a single speed. So you should be good for about 45mph. Or I can build it to go about 100mph which is always better :thumbup
i dont want a damn r/c car that can go faster than my truck :rofl
LOL
Any opinions on traxxas ez electric start?
My pull cord shit the bed.
I heard the gear strips out over time inside the case. I am not sure if they have made inprovements on that recently.
Losi just recently came out with there Remote Onboard Starting System (R.O.S.S.) for the trucks. Not to sure if it’s adaptable to outer vehicals yet.
Save $, buy a $6 pullstart.
I mean they work and all, but extra weight. Although I doubt you race a Traxxas in leagues, so its viable. I ripped that off my old N. Rustler first thing and swapped to pull.
any1 have an extra glow plug ignitor? i can’t find mine
I’m having nothing but issues with the pull start on mine, I always end up breaking something, usually it’s the upper filler neck on the gas tank.
I have no idea how guys pull theirs so easy, the pull cord that just went I had to put the strength of the entire cast of 300 to pull the damn thing.
Also the car had to be forced against the ground as all the wheels are still in drive when I pull? :ponder
Now I havent had any nitros in years, just stating that first :lol
What shape is the one way bearing in the pull start? Is it beat? That could be why its so hard to pull. All the wheels turn when you pull it, try loosening the slipper clutch a little.
<<< RC amateur.
Looks like I’ll have to find the slipper clutch.
Also - bearing in the pull start? I took the entire thing apart in an attempt to fix the jam and just saw the coil in there. Either way looks like it will need a replacement, but the car was hell of a lot harder to pull than youtube videos such as this.
It was essentially effortless in his case.
Take the clutch bell off and inspect the condition of the shoes. It almost sounds like you have a sticking clutch. Make sure all the springs are in the correct spot and that the shoes are not wore or melted to the bell housing.
Looks like I’m going to have to field strip the entire thing then.
What are some of the best/cheapest sites you guys use to buy stuff from?
Where do you go locally besides Hobbytown?
TowerHobbies.com FTMFW
Do what Reckone said. In an Electric car its a slipper clutch, Nitro its a clutch bell, that sounds correct. Theres really no bearing in the pullstart? You said it was a Traxxas right?
fixed for you
theytoyz.com is the shit
Yeah Traxxas 3.3
No bearing, just a coil spung around the center.
DID NOT look like these
Eric i need a single or 2speed tranny.
Just started mine up. and lauched it. welllllllll the single speed wasnt liking the power and went boom
Lmao where do u guys drive these things in winter?
Vlad: The one I had looked like your second pic there. The middle piece is actually a “One way bearing.” But I understand your saying yours is different, and thats a bit weird. Maybe give Traxxas a call, they have always had great customer service. Better yet they have a forum, that has had a decent turn around time from pros.
Going on personal experience, I have NEVER had a problem with TH. And I have spent ~$1500 over the last 5 years there, no lie. When I was shipped a heatsink that was the wrong color, they let me keep it, and gave me my money back. And free shipping on orders over $150, and the coupons for nearly $60 off on $300… Cant go wrong.
Vlad, i have a brand new pull start of my old 2.5. It’s the exact same one in your second pic. Let me know if you want it, I have no Traxxas cars anymore.
Jeff, I have another 2 speed setup and a few singles lying around. What part of the single speed you need?
As for parts and what not,
