People kill the motors with lipos because of it running to hot with how long run times can go for. So now I’d need a good lipo charger, a good set of lipos, and possibly replacing a motor all few times. I’m good. I also can look for a used charger system. I already have one.

With the right gearing heat shouldn’t be an issue, but a motor heat sink and fan would make a big difference.

Charger= $30
lipo= $15-20

If the motor fails, sell esc and buy a complete brushless set up for $60 :wink:

where do you get a brushless setup for 60?

So the 1/16 Slash is now fully converted to rally/on-road/drifter. Can convert back to Stadium Truck. Here are photos of the painting process again. Same colors due to leftover material.

The conversion: Bumpers, body mounts, suspension, tires.

Did this all in a matter of 2 hours thanks to a heat gun. lol

Thinking I’m going to go with something like this as a track design.

Bringing lipo batteries back to life is such a thrill, just knowing it could blow up without notice. :wink:

A good high quality charger should prevent that right ?

They’re old batteries that were drained and once they’re like that the battery is basically shot.

I charge them in nimh mode till the voltage is high enough that the lipo charger doesn’t read low voltage error. DON’T TRY THIS! extremely dangerous…

I used to LOVE doing bodies. I’d spend a full 8 hours on a 1/10 scale touring car body, they’d look incredible.

Going to the secret bashing spot, pm me for directions if you want to go.

BDR it’s not far from your house if you’re looking for a new spot.

Playing around with the msr x when the winds chased me back inside. No damage from the crash at the end.

Nice job. Some solid nose in. Try going counterclockwise on your circuits. You will find it takes a different touch due to the rotation of the blades and the tail rotor thrust. But it’s great practice.

Yeah, I’ve been working on switching it up. Outside I had some nice figure 8’s going until the wind kicked up.

that looks fun, too bad my dog would freak out if I flew one in my house. he took a few bites out of my sc10 when he was able to catch it

Flew the MSRX outside on Grand Island yesterday, and at my house Saturday. I was ripping it around full tilt full throttle the whole time. This thing moves awesome! Definitely fights the wind, but man does the wind throw you towards the ground. lol After all the fast passes, the way the heli went down and broke a hole in the front of the body, was when the lipo cut out about 25 ft above the ground on pavement. That sucked.

Ran the Rustler like a boss and worked on the track Saturday to get a prep outline going and some little work. Heres what we got so far.

When we have the right tools and man power, this will get done quickly!! cant wait.

I was shocked how fast it climbs when going straight into the wind. Several times yesterday I was right stick full forward and had to cut the throttle just to get it to descend.

And yeah, wish there was a little more warning on the lipo cutout. Planted it in the middle of my street once yesterday pretty hard when the cutoff kicked on during fast forward flight.

lol right, it would be nice if it was like your traditional heli where when power gets cut, it still has some sort of ability to come down slow… like a plane gliding to the ground. It would just keep the blades rotating to a slower desend.

Does this count? Lol my gf bought it for me for my birthday.

Hey it works, and your gf is looking in the right direction. Not sure what ex’s I have would have bought me RC toys while dating. lol Just get used to that and upgrade when you get bored. There is a night and day difference for sure when you put the money into it. I didnt want to at first but noticed the difference when I was around all my buddies with Blade helis.

I just sold my SC10 recently so I wanted something to mess around with. Also,of anyone is interested, I have Lipo charger that is almost new that I can sell. I’ll post some info if anyone wants it.
