What do you use the car for? If it is mostly a daily with occasional drift days, don’t weld it. Why do you want to swap diffs though? Does the 89 have an open diff? I thought all the canadian 240’s had the vlsd.

only the 91+ canadian 240sx have a vlsd, the 89-90s have an open diff. Welding your diff can be pretty dangerous on the streets, especially if you cannot drive, and your spelling is terrible.

Oh ok. I figured that is where the difference came in. Pignose ftl. To the OP. Don’t weld your diff. You will hate it. Just get a vlsd. A couple of people have them for sale on the forum.

hey guys whats up, I am lowering my car soon and now Im thinking about my rear diff. I have an 89 fastback 240sx. Should I go towards a 93 vlsd rear diff or go to a shop where they can weld my stock rear diff? Personally, Im not to fond of welding my rear diff. I have a funny feeling that the welds will break off one day. If you know a good shop you would trust to weld it, could you can pass the name and number on?

Thanks,

rocco

how hard would that have been?

maybe 30 seconds of actual thought and typing?
