Rear wiper install on a wiper-free S13 HB

Hey guys,

I wanted to know, how hard would it be to install a rear wiper on an S13 HB that never got one from the factory. My car is super-base model. Manual mirrors, manual locks, manual windows… Its got absolutely no creature comforts other than a ghey retracting seatbelt (its a US car) and A/C which doesn’t even work…

How would the wiper control work? Would would I need an external relay, or is there one already by the motor assembly? What else would I need besides the switch on the cluster bezel and a hatch with a wiper?

the wiper relay (or wiper amp as nissan calls it) is at the back of the car

i forget if its part of the hatch or not but you’ll need it

page EL-60 of the ka24de s13 FSM shows you the wiring diagram for the rear wiper

Would that be the black box that’s screwed on with the metal bracket just beside the hatch lock mount?

Hey man… Unfortunately, I’m still in Guelph :confused:

I might be able to come to Durham on Sunday or Monday, depending on whether or not I get insurance completely sorted out on this car, and they give me my registration stickers for my license plate.

Odd i thoguht all 240 have rear wipers, even base …learn something everyday!

Lucas, I had the same notion as you! I thought the previous owner patched the wiper hole when he patched the spoiler. I popped off the hatch cover and noticed that the wiper area was completely untouched! It was perfect! It was super base! As well, where the rear wiper button is supposed to be, there’s a change holder XD

it’s an American thing, American bases have no wipers pretty sure the cnd bases still do.

just trade your hatch with someone that doesn’t want the wiper. Tons of people hate it, and spend money at body shops shaving it!
