its rainy out. and my back wiper works when it wonts to. when it works i have to turn on my rear defrost then the wiper button. has to be in that order. and only if my car is warmed up. never when i need it the most… and will only work for the first few wipes usually. any ideas other then its possesed?

where would that be under my hood? in that little box under my intake?
if I’m not mistaken the controller box is near the rear lock inside the trim…
It could also be chaffed coating on the wires in the hatch, if it goes whenever it wants, it may be making power contact…

When I replaced the hatch in my 91, I found a lot of the wires in the harness were breaking. I’d inspect the wire harness boot (passengerside hatch hinge) and if it looks dry/torn then repair individual wires as needed.
