Since I had metal particles (i believe bearing material) throughout the oil system, what can I reuse from the top end? Will the roller rockers, pushrods, and lifters still be okay if I clean them? Best way to clean the heads?
yes, brake clean or a parts washer
metal shouldnt of gotten into the heads but if it does air helps get alot of it out.
heads and that should be fine as long as you didnt bend a valve.
cam might even be good but i would inspect it
why not just send the block out and get it machined to make it a 355 for a budget and toss everything back on the motor. or if money allows it make it some sort of stroker
Sonic clean…rockers and pushrods…if lifters are hyd rollers I would disassemble first, check em out before trying to clean.
Was there bearing material in the lifter valley?
he’s getting a 383 short block & still using his shorty headers!
them roller rockers and stuff will be junk. you better just give them toi me and go buy new ones.i’ll take the cam too.
Yeah there’s bearing material in the lifter valley. Who does sonic cleaning around here?
