I’ve gotta replace a 2nd gear synchro and am thinking about doing it myself. Would something like this be beyond me?
How much experiance do you have… Realistically pretty much anything on your car is just parts held together by bolts or wires connecting one point to another. You can do it, just make sure you do your research and feel comfortable before you get started. Get specs for anything and read at least a couple DYIs on the subject. Torque specs for everything!
Also, swap to carbon syncros if you can find them for your application.
why don’t you buy another tranny, there are enough kicking around that i am sure you can get one for $100
I thought i saw one for cheaper…

meh, its cheap and works…
This is the spare tranny I already have. I’ve got two of them. When I first bought the car the 2nd gear synchro was bummed out so i’ve been holding off for a while. It’s kinda tough finding anything on tranny disassembly. It’s not in the FSM. . .
What are the pros of carbon synchros?
