Reckone's CB650 Bobber

Just picked this 1982 Honda CB650 up from my brother. I statered this project for him a few years ago and its been sitting since. I welded up the frame as a ridged and slammed it to the ground. My ideas are a simple rat rod style bike. Collection of crap from random places. My brother picked up a early HD tank and straight bars which I intend to use. Just ordered a few parts for it and need to grab the rest from him still.

More to come…

Nice dude. We will have to ride once mine is done in the spring

And when your ready to sell it, I’ll buy it

I’m sure my brother would buy it back since I basically got it for nothing lol

Nice! But your build will have a front brake right? :rofl

Nice!

I have to ask, in this picture, is that a flap connected to the brake? Baffle the exhaust when braking dealio?

What would I need brakes for?

Yea every time I see this thread pop up, I want this bike. Haha

How you see it is how it sat for 2 years and still looks like that. Give me at least a week to get it looking like a bike again.

Appears to be an exhaust brake. looks neat, but exhaust brakes on gasoline engines dont do much. They’re effective on diesels since there isnt a throttle valve on the intake…

Must of thought it makes up for the less of a front brake setup.

haha. maybe.

i think it looks cool either way

grabbed some pics of the current condition today. Once I gain more parts from my brother I’ll begin the build. Just been collection ideas and finding parts that I know I’ll want for it.

I cleaned the carbs and painted the tops black a year ago. Gonna respray them once again.

I’m jealous. I wanna work on my XJ so badly

I’m trying to get the rest of the parts this week so I can do work on it. Thinking of picking up some mid 70’s CB spoked wheels, not a big fan of the mag ones.

looks so bad ass in that pic. the handle bars look good too. tankless and seatless should be the goal

Ready to sell this yet?

Nope haha, been busy so I really haven’t had much time to work on it. Did a bit of welding and finally picked up the tank. Still need to order up a seat assembly and I want spoked wheels for it.

You want an inexpensive seat and mount kit?
TCBroschoppers.com has them. It’s what I used on the Maxim

Yea I have seen them pretty much around $60 shipped on ebay.

Bikes current stage.
