Other than the obvious with the monthly fees, Tivo and DVR, is there a free way that I can hook my PC up to my dish box to record TV directly to my Computer HD? I am upgrading to a HighDef box in a few days in preparation for the super bowl! If anybody does this, and has an pointers or a guide they can link me to, let me know. Thanks.
I have a setting on my windows media player for it. Never used it or know how to use it. Give that a shot?!
If you want a input from a sattelite channel, you need some type of input from your box to your computer. A tuner card gives you varios inputs which you can record off of. If you want to record just the local channels, you can get a antenna and a standard hdtv tuner card and get over the air programming.
