Remember the guy with the 200mph Tacoma?

Well good for him, or the story would have been a lot uglier if he have had run.

The other stuff is just rumors, and I was waiting on some actual evidence to see if it’s true or not, which GranX got for us, Thanks :thumb

Doesn’t really matter at this point. With reckless driving [misdemeanor], unregistered vehicle [$500 civil penalty] and uninsured vehicle [misdemeanor], he’s facing serious enough charges to pay thousands in fines, have his license revoked and look at a miminum 1 year suspension unless he can plea these items down or get them thrown out.

I got lucky when I was tagged with unregistered/uninsured, and managed to get them reduced to a 5mph speeding ticket. With reckless driving, he’s going to have a hard time getting them to move any of those charges.

oh ya, he’s pretty screwed. I’m not sticking up for him in any way. He deserves anything that comes to him. I was just setting the record straight.

hmmm…nitrous illegal on public roads?? I believe not

I got pulled over, over a year ago when i had my nitrous hooked up. It was right in my back seat…as I had my rear seats removed. It was 2am in the morning, and they pulled me over for no front plate…Officer saw the nitrous and had me step put of the car…when he did this, he then asked what I had in my trunk…I said a stereo system…he then told me to pop my trunk and show him…it was 2 young cops, in their mid 20’s…well long story short, they were into my whole car, liked the nitrous and the stereo system…let me drive away home free…on a side note, he told me nitrous was NOT illegal.

Note: Does he actually think he can do over 231mph in a truck that is NOT designed for that high rate of speeds?? Its more of a death wish then a record breaker…my buddys C6 was even starting to get unstable at 190mph…and those cars are designed for that shit.

I could see it going that fast with appropriate prep. You’d need to entirely redo the gearing, fab underbody panels, a drag wing, “slick” the car for aero, build up the engine… yeah, it’s no joke but it’s not terribly difficult to begin the prep. We can make silly power out of engines these days, so horsepower won’t be the main obstacle. Getting the two-way average needed to record that speed is the pain.

I dont think there is any way in hell ANY judge is going to be plea that down. Even in the article about his arrest the officer said the previous times union story was being filed as evidence.

that = pwnage

it says this in the article:
“Robinson was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving and cited for driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, said McLoughlin, who witnessed the incident.”

he did all this in front of a cop who saw all this go down?
if so, majorly PWNED!!! :lmao :wow

:haha he is going to have quite a hefty penalty in court though. i think the only bigger expensive “mistake” would be getting bagged for a dwi, but we’ll have to see how this all pans out.

how the hell does some 'bystander" know what they ticketed/charged him for?

McLoughlin is a Colonie cop. not a bystander

yeah, thats what i was saying…

the way the article was written, tacoma boy pulled out and did all this right in front of that guy. wonder if he was impaired somehow to do something stupid like that? ::slight_smile:

I don’t think he was impaired or else he’d be totally fucked. and it probably would’ve said it in the article. Sounds like what 97VR4 did, just goosed it thought no one was around to see, but unfortunately for him there was.

anyone know exactly how fast he was goin?

at first i thought you guys said mclovin… not mcclaglin :crackup

McLovin NIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCE

by the way the article sounded he really must have “goosed it” when people had to swerve way out of the way, keeping him from hitting them. i know the paper exaggerates shit, but the guy was running uninsured/ unregistered with plates for a subaru on it. not very smart, so i wouldn’t put it past him.

speed wasn’t the issue

german what are you talking about?

Why else would he get pulled over by a cop unless a cop saw him drive wrecklessly? These people hide thats the point so you don’t see them.

then im a little confused, the article made it sound like he was speeding and got pulled over

I don’t believe he was speeding - he was cited for reckless operation. That’s basically “burnout”, in legal-speak. If he was burning out at a speed above the legal limit, yeesh.

Either way, the guy’s going to get hammered. That previous article put a huge hole in any case he might have to get those charges reduced. This is why bad press really pisses me off.

no it didn’t… are you reading the correct article?
