can they be installed on manuals?
think about it
a buddy of mine who is bascially a genius has a remote starter on his cavalier that is a stick, i gotta figure out how he got it to work
all you have to do is complete the clutch safety circuit switch circuit. making it think the the pedal is down so it will start anytime. just make sure you put it in neutral everytime or else haha
yeah all that you need to do is bypass the clutch saftey switch. and park it in nuetral all the time.
a kid on SRT forums had one on his car. was working on the car with it up in the air in gear and rolled over onto his remote start switch. the car beeps like 2 times before its starts then it started pulled it off the jacks and ran into his garage… so just be careful.
i wouldnt worry about it if your talkin about the ws6 because its not driven in the cold that often. and who cares about the heat. justwalk outside and start it you lazy ass.
I wouldn’t do it. I personally know 2 people that have done it, and both of them have had accidents with it.
dont do it
comp-u-star has a R/S for sticks, and its safe. how it works when u take your key out the car stays running, and the car shuts off when u close the door…and this will initalize the r/s to work, if u shut it off before u get out of the car it will not work…i was considering making an “add on manual module” for any r/s
Basically there are two types of clutch switches on manual trans. cars.
Type 1 - The starter wire from the ignition harness goes to a switch which closes when the clutch pedal is pressed fully. The solution to this is to just hook the remote starter’s start wire output up on the side of this switch that goes to the starter wire.
Type 2 - The clutch when pressed switches a wire(to ground, 12 volts positive, or something else) which enables the starter wire some other way. On this you have to use an output from the remote start to duplicate the clutch switch(not as hard as it sounds, however I’ve never done a car like this type).
Every GM car I’ve seen, which are the only ones I’ve done manual remote starts on, has a switch of the first type…I’ll be doing my GTO shortly and see if it’s the same or not - but as a rule of thumb any M/T car is going to be one of those 2 types.
thats a dumb idea
dont do it…

clifford avantgaurd…read up on it…its made for cars that are manuals…I had one in all of my cars so far that were 5 speeds. the car will absolutely not start if the car is in gear. 100% failsafe.
true, but his car is only driven in good weather. so really there is no need
in that case i wouldnt worry about it much then…its only really worth it if you drive it in the winter and dont have a garage space
Dont forget about the summer for the good ol A/C Remote Start on a Standard is possible i do the installations here at my shop, they take longer, cost more, and see more returns than the auto, but usually because of user error, if installed properly, they are safe, if you have some butcher do it you’ll prolly have trouble, Now for the Legality side, I require you to sign a waiver now to release me of any/all damages or deaths cause by a malfunctioing sensor, some other shops just will not do it at all. I personally use an Avital 4100 made for an auto by DEI on my 5spd ranger, and am about to install an Avital 4300 alarm remote start on my NX, So Yes it can be done safely, and Yes it can be used all year round, works great if you happen to have a black car in the summer heat.
