Laquer thinner will work fine if your paint is base/clear. Just soak a rag with the thinner and wipe away, a coating of wax is recommended afterward.
i’d use either rubbing compound or metal polish followed by some high-quality wax.
i got hit and run by a cab. had ugly yellow streaks on the bumper.
eagle one nano wax + an hour or two of hand-buffing later and it was mint. PS my car is black
Your best bet is a medium cut polish. You can get meguiars medium cut at several places locally. You will want one that is made for use by hand/machine with diminishing abrasives like meguiarss dual action cleaning polish M8332. apply the polish directly to the surface, and buff vigorously (sp?) in straight lines, not circles. Repeat until perfect, follow with wax.
polish that shit off!
sounds like you know your shit Sooo its your advice I will take
thanks
ok just use some thinner and wax it it will look good as new i know i detail cars for a living
ew. paint thinner. lets not go there.
if you need help I of course have next week off and wouldn’t mind.
:werd: Perfect product and procedure IMO. I know you can find the meguiars med cut polish at the tiny auto parts store next to hectors hardware on transit across the street from zorbas.
i’d use 3M super duty rubbing compound and just use a handglaze or sealant after it
handglaze isn’t going to take out the haze formed from rubbing compound.
I have polish if you want/need some. I have Meguiars 83…haven’t seen it in stores locally. It’s great for this type of brute work.
