Finally closed Tuesday and moved in yesterday. I lived at my first house in Tonawanda for 5 years. Remodeled the kitchen, both bathrooms, and fixed/improved/broke at pretty much every square inch of the house. It was a 4 bdrm 2 bath cape, 1768 sq feet, detached 2 car garage, weird shaped small lot, built in 1950, all block construction, yadda yadda yadda. Sad to leave a place I’ve put so much of myself into, but oh well. Onwards!

I’ve got a kid on the way so I upgraded to a 1770 square foot house. Those two extra feet are going to make all the difference! It feels a ton bigger though. All the room in the old house was bedrooms so not much got used. This house has smaller bedrooms and an open floor plan on the first floor so it feels twice the size. Plus the basement has 9’ ceilings and is just begging to be finished. Not to mention it’s in fantastic shape, has a bigger yard, 45 years newer, on a park, nice colonial layout.

If you know me then plan on coming over soon for beers, once I dig out of all these damn boxes. If you don’t know me then you should. I’m really cool. I figure I’m doing pretty well, in my second house at 29 just doing the low-risk work-a-day schmuck gig.

Nice, from what I can see the layout looks great and I love the backyard. Congrats!

Finished basement = man cave = epic win

nice house man! Where is it? GI?

Yep, Grand Island. Real nice neighborhood, close to the inlaws for free babysitting, surprisingly low taxes (relative to the rest of WNY). It will be a man cave for a couple of years, until I banish the kid to the basement and I go hide in the garage.

Wow, very nice!

I really like the great room/living room & the house itself looks really awesome.

Is Grand Island real estate pretty comparable to Amherst/Williamsville for pricing?

I’d say you get a bit more for your money on GI compared to Amherst/Williamsville and especially Clarence. If you look at 10+ year old homes the taxes seem to be lower too.

Congrats on not choking out your sellers, inspectors, agents, and lawyers.

How far from China Wok?

Kids are awesome. Buy your toys now and make it quick.

edit: I start my cheapo basement remodel this weekend.

Nice place Fry! I’m digging the back yard.

Looks like less than a mile. Lunch tomorrow?

Congrats.

Congrats dude, that looks like an absolutely gorgeous home.

 basement pics? If you need help finishing it or wiring it let me know.

That looks awesome. Congrats, buddy.

No can do…
Taking tomorow off to screw up my basement

Very, very sharp, love the vaulted ceiling and fireplace.

Now dust off your man-card and remove the gingerbread from the eaves.

Congrats on home #2.

Very nice, loving the back deck! My house has an open floor plan and I kind of dislike it only because you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the adjacent rooms.

is that a concrete driveway? ballin’

Nice!

Looks great! Can’t wait for the inaugural beer!

Totally jealous man, looks good! I just turned 24 and I’m hoping to have a house by the end of this year. Hoping to get out of my pre 1970’s apartment and into my own place. In time it will happen…
